Scott Wagstaff

edited January 2012 in General Charlton
Can't find a thread for him.
I have just had a look and for anyone who's interested, his next league appearance will be his 100th for the club.
Pretty good achievement for a 21 year old.
Not many players make 100 appearances for their respected clubs these days due to external influences (money etc).

    Yep. Easy appearance that ;-)

  • Good thread, he deserves one.

Shame for him how it worked out v the Os and now Green is back he probably won't get a game again.

    What, ever?

    Blimey. Does he know?
  • Good attitude from Waggy though when realised he was coming off.

  • Always thought Waggy is a brilliant team player. Sorry for the lad that Green is ahead of him. Sure he would have loved to have given Powell a headache for the Brentford game.
  • was telling what Christian Daily was saying at half time about not bringing Waggy off as he runs himself into the ground and often comes into his own when we are down to ten men

I was in total agreement with Dailly when he said that, as I'm sure most Addicks fans were.  Still, I guess Powell is allowed to make a mistake every now and then.  It's good to get a lose out of the way - I wouldn't like to go on a long unbeaten run and end up drawing every match...

  • Powell will make mistakes along the course of the season. He is still a 'rookie' manager. For me Waggy was the person you would want ON the pitch whilst playing with a man down. His energy is like a second man (plus he would've kept the balance in midfield).

It was a hard decision for Powell because he should've taken off a striker, but who? BWP pops up with goals all the time and Kermorgant is the better all round player, more suited to playing on his own. I think SCP noticed that (hence bringing on Pritchard) and the change he made balanced everything out.

I hope Waggy gets a special mention next time he's brought on from the bench though. Think he deserves it.
  • I imagine the Wagman will play a part today - I can't see Jackson playing the full 90 minutes.
    From the OS:

After missing six weeks of action, Jackson could now play two matches
in three days, and he admitted he felt tired after his comeback.

"The circumstances have probably made me more tired, and going down to 10 men was the last thing I needed," he said.

Was going to say that, he does seem like a real good lad. Fair play

Yeah - I'd have been kicking the lucazade bottles all over the shop! He'd have every right to think "why me?".
