Rated him last time we played them and rated him again yesterday. Think he'd be a good acquisition. Saw him touting himself in the Standard a few weeks back. We are still squad building and assuming Russel goes back I think we could do with another tried and tested CM to ensure we get out of this league to help share the burden with Stephens and Hollands. Anybody else agree or do we have enough in the squad? If we got him and a pacey striker i think we'll be ready for business end of the season. We've done really well but think the squad has needed a boost for a few weeks now and not convinced Russel or Ephraim are the answers.

    I can't rate him on one game, I think he 'looked' good, always showing for the ball, but not sure he was that effective - someone who was..was Jimmy Smith, what a handful, looked more like a fwd than right winger, liked him

    I agree, don't think Russel and Ephraim are the answer, why wasn't he in Preston's first team???!!

    Is he signing in January? Was extremely complimentary of us in his post match interview with Sky. Would be a quality signing imo, although I'd prefer both Hollands and Stephens over him.

    We do need to sign another centre mid on a perm and I think it could be between Dawson, Coutts and Russell.

    But honestly what was the guy going to say after being thrust in front of a Sky camera ? Don't read anything into this myself.

    Dawson is an all pitch player,  a touch of the Parker/Kinsella's .. The point is, who would he replace in our present team ?

    Didn't notice him tbh. I think we should be setting our sights higher than midfielders for lowly Div One sides.

    That's interesting.

    Hollands, Stephens, Hughes, Pritchard, Alonso plus Russell ? Perhaps Russell isn't staying if there is any mileage to this conspiracy. If we were close to signing which running over to CP implies would he really have started against us and turned in a MOTM performance. Can't see it myself.

    Not convinced Russell is the right player and Hughes isn't the answer in the long term. Maybe we'll see Alonso once he's fit, but I'm not expecting to.

    Pritchard perhaps deserves a chance. Stephens when on form is good but possibly a bit inconsistent.

    If the right player comes along I'd say bring them in, but if Powell sees Pritchard and Alonso making an impact we should have plenty of options.

    He looked consistently good to me until he picked up a knock & played a few games while injured until it was decided he needed an op !

    Was that post-match interview in English?  It just sounded like a noise to me.

    His Irish accent wasn't that strong. Must have been tiring playing 11 men too.

    Without a doubt he is a class player and covers the ground --sooner he is back the better.
