The Addicks will be hoping to emerge victorious from the Bescot/Banks Stadium for the first time in over 11 years this Saturday. The last win in Poland was when braces from Andy Hunt (he plays up front) and Mark Kinsella saw us come out 4-2 winners although I can’t remember how that season ended…

A one all draw back in 2010 all but ended hopes of automatic promotion at the first attempt, and an abject 2-0 defeat was experienced during Powell’s torturous run towards the back end of last season.  Our overall record in Walsall is nothing to write home about, in fact, out of the 11 games we have played up there we have only experienced 4 wins and 3 draws with the Saddlers edging the overall record on account of scoring more goals.  That being said, anything less than a victory come 16.50 on Saturday will be sending over 1,000 Addicks home very disappointed.

Walsall are without a win in the last six and have lost the last three of their home games and are awful in attack, failing to score in 30% of their home games and having the worst overall record in the league.  But this is not about Walsall – it’s about Charlton.

Powell’s troops have gone on an incredible run in the past eight games (I think we all know it off by heart) and - despite some protestations from people who think credit makes people perform worse(?) -  our manager could easily be the November Manager of the Month come 10am on Friday.  And it would be well deserved – and should celebrated.  He has led this team and this squad to a level that many fans have not experienced in a number of years and long may it continue.

The team is likely to revert to ‘Plan A’ after Carlisle with the team that started against Huddersfield, likely to start again.  The only question mark seems to be hanging over whether Powell opts for Hughes or Russel to partner the increasingly impressive Danny Hollands in the centre of midfield, although if the former is fit, we’d expect him to start.  With Yann (are we allowed to call him that?) recovered from an exaggerated injury and Hogan likely to come back in on the left hand side, chances and goals are expected.  They’ve delivered all season, so why not again? 2-0 to the Addicks!

Come on you reds!

COME ON YOU HADDOCK AND CHIP LOVERS!!!

powells boys have a tough trip upto warsaw at the bescot stadium against the only polish side to play in the english league, a full house is expected up there as many expats have adopted the team as their own. ive heard on the grapevine that dyer has been earning his crust by suggesting to powell that he should bring back the 'saveloy treat' for this one if the lads can come away with all three points, powell thought it was a great idea and 'high fived' dyer for his cunning plan.

for this reason im backing the haddocks to win 3-1 as i know for a fact the boys LOVE their sausage and would like nothing better than to gobble one down after the final whistle has gone for a satisfying win!

  • 1-7 Addicks one nil down and snatch one back just before the break.  An amazing 6 goal landslide in the second half, coupled with Ajax's defeat sees us progress into the knockout stage, against all of the odds.

  • Postponed at 2.40pm. Frozen pitch. Just to rub it in, the Jeff Bonser suite will run out of beer at 1.30pm as well.
  • 1-2 BWP & Big Yann our scorers.

  • 0-2 comfortable away victory as the red army march on

  • 4 - 0

Green, BWP getting 2 and KERMIT finishing them off.

  • Charlton 2 - 0 Warsaw. Green with both...he's got to score eventually.
  • I am worried because, like us, Southampton were on a great run until a couple of games ago when they played teams at the bottom of the table (Bristol City & Doncaster) and they lost them both. Having said this our strength is in our consistent defence though another lucky goal against us cannot be ruled out. A pesimistic 1-1 draw with Hogan scoring
  • Warsaw ! That's a hell of an away day.
  • 1-0 to them, poor run through december/january to start.
  • 0-2 to the londoners - Bwp and ephraim
  • Match postponed.

-2 temp forecast for Friday night, only 2c daytime high. Sun low in the Sky. Match off all day long.

Or it goes ahead, and we lose 2-1.

  • Being a pessimist means I am never disappointed.  If we don't win, I knew it and if we do, I am extra happy.  Therefore I think a share of the points is on the cards.
  • Harder than we think. Coming from behind to win 1 - 2

Can't see past an 8-5 victory if I'm honest.
  • Can't see past an 8-5 victory if I'm honest.

That's ridiculous. We will never concede five ;0)
  • at the current rate of rainfall in the west mids maybe the curse will strike again
  • I'm going for a 3-0 win. 7th Clean sheet in 9 games and what good going that would be!..
BWP, Green finally and Waggy off the bench.

    COYR
  • Comfortable 2-0 win with both goals in the first half.
    Yann and Green to score.
  • 3-1 all scored by members of the back four
  • Because it's windy and it's windy a lot in the Netherlands, I'll go for Hollands to score. Because they're playing on a grass pitch, I'll  go for Green to score. And because my missus will be doing our food shopping on Saturday, I'll go for Morrison to score an OG....1-2 to the Haddocks.
