STATBANK: FA Cup R2 Charlton 2-0 Carlisle

Thank you to the 44 Lifers who gave marks for this match. I have extended these stats so they are similar to the League One Stats as I feel some of our fringe players deserve a bit of recognition.

During this week I shall produce some separate stats on our League One defence.

    Cheers Lancs.

    Great stuff as usual.

Also how did you decide who was MOTM out of Solly and Pritchard if they both got exactly the same average mark. (or is it a mistake?)
  • ah yes I meant to mention that - I gave it to Pritchard as more Lifers had nominated him as MoM than had nominated Solly, I know that MoM nomination isn't a requirement but some Lifers do it, so when there is a tie I use it.
  • The ratings are missing from the Carlisle game on page 3, other than that sterling work as always!
  • thanks RedArmy, I was getting a bit frazzled towards the end, so I'll put them in next time - stats do that to you sometimes !
  • Do the cups include the mighty Peoples Cup, and Kent Cup? ;-)
  • Was there even a players ratings thread for the Kent Cup??
  • How do the cumulative player stats work?
  • How do the cumulative player stats work?
Avg mark: this is the average of all cup games for a player where they have been given a mark, i.e. played at least 30 mins, for those players with at least 3 games I have placed them in order of their mark. With League One games the qualification is 5 games but for the Cups I decided to have qualification of 3.
The rest of the stats from "games played" though to "total goal scored" are the total for each player in cup games in which they have appeared.
  • One way of looking at it is given that 92 points will nearly always get you promoted - we can afford to drop 35 points between now and the end of the season. Not saying we will but that is reassuring with the quality we have- doesn't look likely.
  • Great stats as ever LL.  Good to have another game wit no bookings.  Were still second in the fair play league  http://soccernet.espn.go.com/stats/fairplay/_/league/eng.3/english-league-one?cc=5739

Compare Charlton (22 disciplinary points) with our rivals Sheff W (36),  Hudders (35), MK Dons (39), Sheff U (36), Notts Co (44).  Apart from the fact that we are just good eggs, that lack of cards is sure to help us out a bit later in the season.

You want to look at our stats for assists also.

BWP is joint top with 7
    Hayes 5
    Jacko 5
    Green 4
And incredibly for a fullback, Wiggins 4

But they only credit BWP with 12 goals, when the whole world knows he has actually scored 14.

And of course we've scored more goals than any other team.
    And conceded the least.

And ........ more points than any other team !!

And we're 3rd in the attendance table, behind the Wendies and the other Sheffield club.
  • Oggy - I don't understand who says BWP only has 12 goals, also I reckon the assists are as follows:

    Hayes 5
    Jacko 4
    Green 4
    Wiggy 5

but then assists are quite subjective and we can all agree to differ, all I do know is that the "official" Football League assists is wrong.

Whether it is 4 or 5, 12 or 14 it doesn't matter as long as the club, that's all of us, keep up this impressive form.

    Banks Stadium here we come!
