Apart for the draw matching City and Utd there are a couple of other interesting ties.
Apart from our trip to Craven cottage there are some other matches of note. Birmingham
v Wolves
, and Forest v Leicester should be classic local ties.
The one I think will be the most interesting (after ours) will be Gillingham V Stoke. Gillingham chairman Paul Scally and Stoke manager Tony Pulis have had a long running feud which ended up in a court case. Earlier this year in the Daily Telegraph Scally was quoted as saying
"In my 37 years of working with many, many people, Tony Pulis is the most evil, despicable person I have ever worked with. I have never doubted his coaching ability, in fact I’ve always said Tony was a very good coach, but I don’t have much more to say about him. The reason the team performed so well in 1999 was they were a great bunch of lads. My grandmother could have run that team that day (the 1999 play off final, Gillingham were 2-0 up and conceded two late goals and went on to lose on penalties). It was a game that people still talk about."
Perhaps there will be more action off the pitch than on it at Priestfield.
