yes, but that had a basic flaw...the idea was to put them on WHEN charlton scored...whereas giving everybody a scarf to wave around from the off doesn't need the team to actually do anything and will animate the crowd by default and hopefully feed back to the players a la the c.a.f.c. chant against chelsea...
it would have been really funny if it had just been a handfull of us in homemade masks but as soon as it grew legs you just knew it was gonna die a death!!!!

Before it happened, it was all Peter Varney's idea according to the club. Afterwards, I'd bet they wished they'd let me take the rap for it after all.
