Hello all! New on here, exiled in York but an Addick to the core. Was a regular at The Valley for most of the 90s, travelling from York every other week. If you read Voice of the Valley I wrote six or seven columns under the heading Nortern Notebook. Primarily used to drink in the Horse And Groom with Mick from Bolton. Was once accused of being undercover old bill after a 2-0 win at Southend tho why the Met would choose a 20 year old with a northern accent to infiltrate the infamous Charlton firm still baffles me! Anyway, even if I'm not remembered I'll still pop up with words of wisdom. . . . . . Body in Yorkshire, heart in SE7 - COYR!

Well......the first thing we need to establish is, are you or are you not undercover Old Bill, you haven't actually denied it?
We should organise a northern exiles beer session at one of the many up north away games next year.
Its ridiculous, I can't remember what train I got yesterday or what I had for dinner, yet I can remember your real name in VotV from twenty odd years ago...
Welcome!
Horse & Groom brings back memories. Shame it's gone.
Seriously though, thanks for the welcomes, very warming to the soul. Just glad that there seems to be a few of us in exile so it's not just me who has to feel so close yet so far away. I actually work with two other exiles and my line manager is a dirty Millwall fiend! So say what you want about the North, it seems more and more Londoners are heading to the green and pleasant Yorkshire surrounds. Mind you, it is colder up here, wasn't fun scraping ice off my car at 6.30 this morning.
I'm liking the idea of an exiles meet up for a game and Lincsaddick's suggestion for the Huddersfield game is a beaut. Big game, big crowd. Could we be already up by then or am I being a little premature?
To SE10 - real shame about the Horse and Groom closing, I had many a giggle in there tho not so fun when that little mob of Burnley tried their best to reorganise it's decor. Poor Bill, I can still see his face.
As for OrientalAddicks question if I've been invited into any cliques then no, I haven't. Though to be honest I'm a bit of a lone ranger - roll into town, take care of business then slip away.................
Lastly, if you sir, AFKABartram, can indeed remember my name from a ropey few pages I wrote years ago, then you are a legend!!!!!
