Keep up Shooters, SoundAs, and all ........Solidgone is on the right track, as all long-suffering Addicks should remember:
"Who's that team they call the Millwall, Who's that team we all abhor? They play in lily white And they are a load of shite. And Benny Fenton's mother is an whore"
Little Covered End ditty during the late 60's/early 70s. Ex-Charlton 50s star Benny Fenton was the Millwall manager at that time.
;o)
Ah right Oggy, appalingly bad taste it is then....................LOL!!
Jackett isn't a Charlton fan, he's Watford I think.
& Palace are bigger than us in almost every way - ground, support, honours won, years in the top flight etc - makes it even funnier that over our history we've beaten them more times than they've beaten us. Although their record isn't quite as embarrassing as yours.
Palace only have more success if you consider the Zenith Data Systems Cup as success.
True, I'd thought they'd also won the FA Cup as well as runners up. Just bigger in ground & years in the top flight then.
For some reason we seem to go on about Millwall as if they are public enemy no 1 personally I would rathet see palace turned over every time. But although we work ourselves up into a lather ,the truth is the supporters of Millwall hold us in total contempt to them the teams who they want to beat are West Ham,Palace,Gillingham,Leeds,Pompey,Leicester we are just not on there radar, now you may find that hard to accept but it is true.
I know that they have alot time for Steve Gritt and took the view that when McGhee sacked him they were not impressed .
When we were in the championship and the season we got relegated when the half time results were given over the tannoy and we were losing no cheers went up they could not care less .

The truth hurts then but what sparrows lane lion has said is right if ourselves & Palace think we are bigger than them they just laugh at us. They point out that have beaten us and palace more times than us that is all that matters to them. They beat us 4-0 last time we played at the den I know from my Millwall mates they have moved on the one think they would love more is to beat West Ham home and away in one season that is more important to them.
Its game over re Smallwall dont care--------the gate when we last played there and Neil Harris saying in the Evening Standard " we must win this its the biggest game for our fans" ---- clue there.
They like ourselves were chasing promotion at that stage both of us had the chance of automatic promotion I know it is hard for you to accept but how many Millwall mates do you have or how many Millwall supporters do you know.
All the people I know who are supporters of Millwall when asked if they chance of beating West Ham 1-0 but it meant losing to us 2-0 or beating us 2-0 or losing to west ham .
I know what they would prefer and beating us 2-0 would not be a option, it is not good thinking because Neil Harris said it was totally true they wanted 3 points for their promotion chase
Frank have a word with yourself your a millwall fan on a charlton site pretending to be charlton....millwall is a small team down the road who are never happier or more successful when in league one, pull yourself together please

more home fans for the charlton fixture than the west ham fixture
groups of hard men, without tickets, on the last saturday before christmas, when it was freezing, bowling around with a police escort, the beautiful alleys of charlton ......

fans bunking in to the game , oh perlease
deluded
So because an away game at The Valley is practically a home match, a chance for a decent booze up before xmas, a SE London derby, easy to get to and everyone out for the day looking to try & bunk in, that now puts Charlton as our number one most hated team does it?
You're our SE London rivals, it's a big game, not sure where that's been disputed apart from Frank. But, for some to imply we hate you as much as you hate us is a bit silly, as the Fans Survey from several years back showed.
& with regards to west ham game, that's for members only & many either stay away/not allowed to go, for obvious reasons.

What do mean get back on your own board
agreed that they like to beat west ham the most as they are both east london clubs and they have a chip on their shoulder because west ham do them at the only thing they were once famous for. Most of them now live in charlton areas though and despite what they might say, they love beating us. Leicester, Gillingham - absolute twaddle which is why i thought you were a spanner on a wind up.

Your starting to sound like a palace fan - protesting too much i believe sparrows - we know all about the west ham thing but make no mistake, i know loads of millwall fans and beating us 4-0 last year made their decade. You don't hate us as much as Palace because you have a good record against us but if your honest, you know that you see ten times more Charlton fans than any others and we are the single reason why you will always be a small club. Our history, our location in south east london and our proximity to kent means we have a huge catchment area - one you would have if we weren't there and that is it in a nutshell. At least like most millwall i know, you have resided yourself to being small and now look for other things like we're hard or we're this or that. Truth is, the only thing you were famous for is over and you are now a magnet for the chav of today and an embarasment to most of your die hard fans who now live in some inverted snobbery towards the rest. Sad but true and us rising back up must be so so dissapointing.
About Millwall a lot depends of which era we have been playing in .
When I grew up in the 70's we shared the same Division for much of the decade as we did in the 80's and early 90's .
After 95/96 we never played each other for 13 years and I even got to the stage of looking out for the Spanner's results and wishing them well , I wanted them to beat United in the Cup Final , it was only in 09/10 when we were paired again that I felt rivalry again.
The reason why they are the team i always want to lose the most is not because i have a hatred for them - i have lots of good friends that are millwall fans and all good blokes but i know that them doing well is the only club that could have a direct affect on us. If they had a sustained spell of success, there is no doubt it would detract from us because we share the same part of london. It's as simple as that to me and which is why Palace, although they are a good side show, are a bit oif an irrelevance really and to be honest millwall and west ham may have a rivalry but one or other being successful would not affect the other. To West Ham, that would be Spurs.

who bunks into football these days .... that is desperate only for cup finals and big games would that happen
it must have meant so much to try and do that... desperate
i mean go to greenwich/blackheath and have a christmas beer rather than knuckle dragging around the valley without a ticket
it's a jealousy thing i find with the millwall friends i know, they know we're bigger and better and more successful and they know they are our bogey team , they all pretended it didnt matter when we were in the prem but they all got flicked up when we were relegated and i was receiving texts from millwall goons who i hadn't had contact with for a good few years once the 4-0 took place and i was in a mates millwall box watching the jubilance and millwall fans taking pictures of each other after the game , it meant a lot to them

Harsh but fair.

very polite Nolly ;-)
Let's face it, the "hatred" between us two mainly comes from your side rather than ours.
Probably one of the tamest derbies in the country, not exactly a cauldron of hate & bile when we play.
What bollox...I still have the scars to prove it........you don't like us lot then again who do you like.
Bunch of ****!
