Wednesday have already lost 4 games. Project that over the season and you won't finish top two. With the exception of Notts Co on 25 goals you must look to 11th place and Carlisele to find a team that has conceded more than Wednesday. I think cautiously optomistic for the playoffs is the reality for SW fans
I have to agree with this, it seems that the ginger one has accepted that the current crop can't hack it and now is the time to panic and replace them with out of favour misfits.
I really, really hope we don't go down the loan route excessively. I understand the point about it only being rubbish loan players that cause a problem but I really don't see anyone much better than what we have in our squad coming to play for us - perhaps I'm just scarred by our recent experience.
BTW I really can't say how Sanchez Watt is a good or bad signing. He's hardly kicked a ball in his career, seems to have spent legnthy spells out injured and has one goal to his name. I would imagine Wednesday may look to bring in someone else in to fill Madine's boots as Watt does not seem to be the same sort of player at all - I'd be worried if I was a Wednesday fan and the guy who scored four times as many goals as anyone else in my team was out until the new year.
They call each other th pigs, swillsboough was built on old abatour/pig farm blades play in streaky bacon, bizare city sgeffield, prob why loved it so nuch
exactly, the loan system is ridiculous .. A different topic .. BUT Huddersfield have Lee suspended and immediately bring in Parkin for a few games. It devalues the disciplinary system as well as the transfer system. (and YES I know we have signed Ephraim !!)
Parkin is a a very good signing for this level. He's a big chap that has seen off a few pies in his time, but he is strong and a great finisher. He would be a good signing for most championship sides.
As for Watt, I think he is a good player, but I don't think he is an out and out striker.

Just out of interest (not digging you out) but what is your opinion of Watt based on ?
I never had an opinion of Sheffield Wednesday before but I really hate them at the moment. I hope Watt is shit. And not because I see them as a threat.

I have disliked them since they were crowing after the final whistle when we were relegated from the Prem first time.
We are confident at the moment as we are in a great position. If we have a bad run that may change but for now we are retaliating against all those who are writing us off
I cant stand their fans, massive chip on their shoulder and like Kap10 mentioned when they gloated after relegating us singing 'always look on the bright side of life' just topped it off!And as for that moody, ginger, hoofball tactical manager of theirs!Their not top of my favourites list!
I am confident we will finish above them, they have already shown by the number of goals they have conceded that their not the team their fans think they are!The only reason we looked poor against them is because we got brought down to their physical level!
As for the significant number of loan signings.... well we as Charlton fans should know how well that bodes you as a team! (Rolls eyes)
Happy to see you are so confident, dont give us a second thought.Your obviously so much better than us!!!
To be fair it's no reflection on your team. It's just that in the three years we've been in League 1 I've yet to see a better side than this season's Charlton team. I know it'll sound cocky and arrogant, but I can't imagine in my wildest dreams that there is a team in this division that can play better football than us.

Didn't know he was top scorer in the football league.
Well done Gary.
