The 5th goal on Saturday

edited November 2011 in General Charlton
From where I sit at the front of the North Upper/NW Quad the 5th goal was one of those special CAFC moments.
Does anyone else know what I mean. That was a special goal.

  • yes   TV didnt do it justice. Was right in line with wiggins when  he got the ball a great bit of skill
  • Yeah agreed about the tv doing it no justice, was a brilliant goal and it was celebrated properly by myself and Gumbo in particular. The skill Wiggins showed to rob that defender was class. The one thing the tv did show was the excellent finish by Hollonds, class header, very pleasing goal.
  • Truly excellent goal - imagine if that BWP first half effort had gone in though - that would have been the best goal ever!!!
  • Yes and did I imagine or did a huge firework go off behind the section that joins the North and East stand just as we were all up celebrating.  Thought it quite appropriate.

It took a few seconds for us to start cheering tho as we had a fiver on Charlton to win 4-0!

  • Great goal! I sit behind that goal so got a lovely view of the skill and finish. Pure class!!! More of the same please :p

  • Perfect delivery from Wiggins, I could see the venom in the defenders eyes as he tried to kneecap Wiggins, nasty nasty attempt at a kneecapping as I've ever seen!  Much enjoyed the crestfallen look after Wiggins popped over him, and even more enjoyed the sheepish look on all of their faces when they came out for an early warm down!
  • For comedy value look at the defenders 'defending' Greens run for the first goal.
  • i was in NWQ too and i thought it was a real blinder !!

just like watching Brazil (no not Alan as he is now !)

wiggins and jacko are a good combination ,,jacko not fast but sits in when wiggy goes on one of his runs
  • For the 5th the tv doesn't show Wiggins losing the ball first - then fighting to win it back.  We won the throw and the rest, as they say, was history.

    Beaufitul goal.

And on TV they said the PNE 2nd was goal of the game!
  • Yes, it was a good finish but that statement was a bit odd- do they  a) not actually watch the action or b) not understand football?

  • Their second goal was something special in fairness.

It seemed that more players ran up to Wiggins after the goal than to Hollands.
