  • Ooops ! Cut off in my prime.....

Meant to add that non NWKA members will be welcome , although new memberships will be taken on the night  . Non members will be admitted but will be asked  to buy a raffle ticket or three or to make a donation to the Academy on the night. All proceeds will be added to the £500 the group has already raised towards a new minibus.

Raffle prizes will include signed Charlton memorabilia and an auction may be held for a special item ( dependant on numbers attending)

Please come along to give your support to this vitally important part of the CAFC infa structure & to ask THOSE questions. We believe that this is the first time a Supporter Group has been fortunate enough to host  an evening  of this kind so please join us .

Just ask for Fanny on the night.....

  • Bumped from page 3 .....
  • So why is this a big secret?  Typical clique.

Aren't fans who could make it as good as you blah, blah, wibble wibble.

    : - )

    Any news
  • Very good evening, Ken the only other lIfer there (well apart from Fantastic Fanny).

Lots of talk about the EPPP and the consequences of this decision. Can't remember what exactly was said, but along the lines of it being in the interests of the few and not for the good of the game as a whole.

We're going for Academy 2 status, but needs extra investment from the club.

Bradley's Jordan and Goldberg were present. Couple of smashing fella's real credit to the club and the academy. Interesting to see how they both came into the academy. Bradley G spotted playing for Bromley, Bradley J has been at the club since he was 9. Both being mentored by first team players, in fact whole U18 squad being mentored. Talked how much the first team talk to them and encourage them.

Paul Hart and Steve Avory spoke how highly our academy is regarded and was interesting to hear Paul Hart speak about how he perceived us before he joined (all very very positive). Won't single out any players as that is not fair BUT said this is one of the finest squads we've had.

Rhys Williams thanked everyone for the fundraising, Academy needs as much money as possible so Valley Gold and all the other fund raising really playing its part.
  • Cheers BDL, sounds like a good night.

And if you want to help the academy then there are the on-going auctions on this site the money from which go to the Academy minibuses.

Yes, and apologies for being late but had to go to Long lane Football club about  my reserves  training on the  Astro turf....... Had a quiet word with the young players afterwards, seemed very level headed and Bradley G played  in the kent league for Bromley, and knew a few players such as Jack Parkinson of  Welling.  Surprised to hear there are no Charlton fan's among the players....although that might been a bit tongue in cheek!. Be interesting to see how they progress.
  • Thanks for that, BDL & for the great job you did last night, as always...( cheque's in the post !)

One other thing I remember is that Paul stated he felt Charlton's Academy ranks in the top 10 of the 92. Praise indeed.

And the good news is that including the proceeds from last night's raffle, a cheque for £600 will be presented on the pitch on Academy Day in January.

    Many thanks to all concerned.

    sounds Fantastic Fanny ;-))
  • Thanks, Lovely Large....
  • Well done on the £600 raised.   Just shows that there is a role for local supporters groups to help the Club and have some fun and informative meetings  at the same time.

So over to all the Eltham, Bexleyheath,Sidcup and Greenwich Addicks out there

are they not areas covered by the main branch of the Supporters Club or does it not exist anymore?
  • I think Airman might  answer that one, Large.
