Been meaning to sign up to this site for years, Unc on here somewhere...where are u Mike? As a Halifax based Charlton fan since 1983 thought now was a good time ;-) This is the tie I never thought would happen but a dream.....followed Charlton since 1983 lived in Halifax since I was two! I count the Shaymen as my 2nd team and my mate Steve
who was best man at my wedding (and I'm best man at his next year)
is a lifelong Shayman with Charlton as his second team, he's been down
to The Valley with me a few times over the years. It really is a dream
come true! I had mixed feelings when the tie came out but the dream
would be a draw with a replay at The Valley...we may not need it but Town do. It's gonna be great jumping on bus for my 15min journey to The Shay ;-)
Anything you want to know about ground n pubs let me know....the Skircoat stand is a bit dated and there are some supports in the way but don't distract too much, should be a good atmosphere. Town are a great club and def on the way up after being demoted from Conference after going into administration...two back to back promotions, doing ok this season, club well run and best financial footing for years.......If any of you fancy trying some real ale instead of the usual southern dishwater try the Three Pigeons just few mins walk from the ground..... should be a good day and Town are no pushovers, great Manager in Neil Aspin who played for Leeds against us in 1987 play-off final.
Hope to see some good support from the Addicks it's the FA Cup after all!
'Recent' history from old Third Division between two clubs courtesy of my mate Steve:
18.03.1975 Charlton Athletic 3-1 Halifax Town
17.08.1974 Halifax Town 2-2 Charlton Athletic
02.10.1973 Charlton Athletic 5-2 Halifax Town
18.09.1973 Halifax Town 2-1 Charlton Athletic
21.04.1973 Halifax Town 3-0 Charlton Athletic
06.03.1973 Charlton Athletic 1-0 Halifax Town
Hope to see you there and hopefully see some of you in the Three Pigeons for
some real northern ale before the match!!

Welcome to the madhouse nephew.........bout bloody time :-)
We talk about all sorts of things on here like jobs, money, owning our own homes, fit birds, fashion etc and whilst I know none of this applies to you up North it would help if you joined in now and again. :-)
Is Marshy going to join???
Unc - you finally found me, told you to ditch the dial-up;-) Yeah you're right no money up here just got home after a long day down pit...I'll bring some culture to this site, none of your southern prawn sandwich brigade...we only eat tripe up here where as you only talk it ;-) Yeah I'll work on Marshy.....you enjoy the match from your cosy armchair while us real fans make the effort to get there...it maybe only 4 miles for me but that aint the point!!
Lol, 4 miles is the furthest you have travelled to a game since the semi final against Swindon at the Valley.
I hope you stood to attention when you thanked AFKA.........he is admin........watch your back :-)
PIECE Hall, as in pieces of cloth.
Or even Sunday?
Making the long trip up there 4.30am start,
must be mad
Wouldn’t have gone if it weren’t for the players paying me to but thought it was a nice touch. Ill be on the coach bright and early at 6 looking forward to it now. Did have a little wonder how addicted I was when a mate said why the !@?& are you going all the way up there, its on a Sunday, an early kick off and even worse its on the telly. But he’s an arsenal armchair fan so he doesn’t count..
