Notts County chairman Ray Trew sees no point in giving Magpies boss Martin Allen a longer contract as the manager wants to leave.
Allen was appointed in April on a rolling 12-month deal.He secured the club's League One status last season and County currently lie sixth in the table this time around. However, Trew called BBC Radio Nottingham's Matchtalk football phone-in on Monday night and told fans that Allen would not be offered an extended contract."I'm happy and he's happy. Certain contracts are not worth the paper they are written on. If a manager wants to go he will go," Trew said."Is it [a long-term contract] worth it? Does it make any difference? No, I don't believe it does."
