'Game Changer' is certainly a strange nickname. Perhaps 'Game Changing' refers to some bizarre personal proclivities involving owning several large ruminants and swapping them around various locales? It certainly doesn't involve 'changing' a football game - since he has a scoring record that even Big Carl would scoff at (2 goals in 49 appearances)

    In trouble again:

NEWCASTLE United striker Nile Ranger has been arrested on suspicion of rape, sources said.

The 21-year-old Premier League footballer was held by Northumbria Police following an allegation made by a woman that she was attacked at a hotel in Jesmond, Newcastle between Wednesday and Thursday.

London-born Ranger, who lives in Forest Hall, North Tyneside, was still being questioned today.

A police spokeswoman said: "On Thursday January 24 a woman reported to police that she had been raped overnight at a hotel in Jesmond.

"A 21-year-old man has been arrested at an address in Forest Hall on suspicion of rape."

A Newcastle United spokeswoman declined to comment.

He's scored two goals in his Newcastle career (51 apps) - how many arrests is that now ?

They've got to get rid of this guy. He's been in trouble quite a few times now and came out having a go at the supporters after they lost to Reading on Saturday.

I recall Pardew publicly slating him as well for his attitude and timekeeping recently.

Surely you can sack a footballer for constantly being arrested? Must be some kind of 'damaging clubs image' or something they can get rid of him on. It's not as if he's a great prospect worth keeping either.

It's not just arrested though, I think he's been convicted a few times too

He is still heavily involved with his 'gang' mates from Wood Green and was nicked at the end of last year for kicking some birds front door in, in Enfield.

Nile Ranger has been charged with common assault, police have said.

The 21-year-old, who left Newcastle United by mutual consent a fortnight ago, was arrested after police received reports of a fight between a couple in Newcastle city centre on Wednesday evening.

The London-born former England under-19 player was held after an alleged assault in the car park of The Gate entertainment complex.

Earlier a Northumbria Police spokesman said: "At 7.09pm yesterday evening police received a report of a fight in the car park area at The Gate, Newcastle. A 21-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of assault and he is currently in custody helping police with inquiries."

A force spokesman said later that Ranger will appear before Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Friday.

    What a berk.

He left Newcastle by 'mutual consent' a couple of weeks ago and is now a free agent. They must be glad to be rid of him.

It doesn't get any better for young Nile............

Former Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger has been charged with rape.

The 22-year-old will appear in court on 21 August in connection with an alleged incident at a hotel in the Jesmond area of the city in January.

Mr Ranger, of Bailey Close, Harringay, London, left the club by mutual consent in March.

The player, a former England under-19 international, who has had spells on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley, is currently on bail.

May be the answer to our striking concerns. He's handily tattooed his name on his head so we woudn't need to waste 20 quid putting it on his shirt.
