Possession & Winning The Ball Back

At the start of the season the players came out all guns blazing , eager to show the fans, and Manager they were a good purchase and that they were fit and worthy to wear the shirt.

I'm not still moaning about the Stevenage game , but it has been noticeable in the last few games ,(maybe i'm the only one?) that we don't seem to have the same desire (or energy) levels as we had in terms of winning the ball back, whether Hollands is just knackered because of father duties , it would be understandable , but i feel until we get back to winning the ball back and using our possession well , then we will find it hard work getting results.

It just a shame we haven't got anyone else fit and up to speed at the moment to play centre mid and give Hollands and Stephens a break.

  • Why not play Evina on the left and bring Jackson into the centre?
  • If Powell fields the same team again and we lose then things could get a bit hostile.

We need to stay calm and get back to playing football. We've lost our way in the last few games as you pointed out. Saturday will be interesting for sure.

Not a bad idea Lancs, but who would you play along side him?

  • We need to defend higher up like Marseille were tonight. Good show by Diawarra I thought, Wenger should have bought him rather than slow kraut.

I'd actually be okay with Hollands keeping his place. Stephens seems far more dependent on form with his playmaking passes rather than Hollands' more simple (but still important) role. Of course, there is still the option to work Alonso back into first place contention and get his fitness up.
  • MIA - you are spot on. Our loss of form is, as you say, probably combined with changing the team.
