Hamer 5.5- One good save, no chance with wickedly deflected shot for goal - flapped at a few though Cort - 6 Won every header, lacks mobility but their keeper had to make an excellent save to keep him out and he does look a threat at set pieces. Morrison -5 Not a right back Taylor -5 not his best game Wiggins - 8 Thought he was th eonly player trying to make things happen -couldn't do it on his own though. Green - 3 No quality which is what he is their for. Waggy has to have his place back. Hollands - 4 was he out there? Stephens 4 I think he might have been but not sure. Jackson - 6 Wasn't terrible. Kermorgant - 5 Won lots of headers - no real undertsanding with BWP - probably brought into starting eleven too soon but think he has more to offer. Wright Phillips - 5 Was a constant threat but missed a sitter, made the wrong choice to cross when through at abit of an angle.
Hamer 5 Continues to look like an accident waiting to happen. Not at fault for the goal, but a clownish mistake also lead to a second. Poor communication was demonstrated when Morrison twice cleared balls that he should have made his.
Cort 6.5 Not much wrong and looked a threat at their end.
Morrison 6 Not a right back
Taylor 6 Coped with physical attack
Wiggins 6.5 Real mixed bag, great coming forward, some sloppy play at the back. Linked up well Jacko and Ced
Green 4 Nothing good really. Terrible free kick and no accurate crosses, though he did get in one decent deflected shot. Not justified being ahead of Waggy.
Hollands 6 Quiet for him
Stephens 6 Decent showing, but often bypassed as we hit long crossfield balls to Jacko and Kermi
Jackson 6.5 Got in a couple of good crosses and put in a shift. Stayed out wide more than usual and linked well with Wiggy.
Kermorgant 5.5 Won a lot in the air and got some good flicks to BWP
Wright Phillips 6.5 He's an excellent player. Constantly menacing on the shoulder of the defender. Inches away from an equaliser and could have had a pen.
Hamer 5 two good saves, one ridiculous flap and one ridiculous dispossession Morrison 5 if he was a right back it would have been a 3 Taylor 5 not his best Cort 6 best of a mediocre bunch Wiggins 5 Green 5 ineffective. Waggy looks a better bet Hollands 5 fairly anonymous Step hens 5 more anonymous than Hollands Jackson 5.5 tried to get things going but didn't achieve much BWP 5 not his best performance Kerm 5 Hayes offers more over 90 mins. Impact sub would be a better use for him
Subs came too late to make any difference and what was the point in bringing Evina on?
Hamer 5 I like his diistribution but as commented above he loses a mark for the incident just before half time when he didn't seem that concerned about getting back in goal
Cort 7 I liked him , he looks good at this level , more mobile than the Doc
Morrison 5 Good defensively but offered nothing on the wing
Taylor 6 Average
Wiggins 7 Looking very consistant , links well with Hollands and Jacko
Green 5 Some good balls into the box and his long throws are effective , giving away a foul throw on a short throw was disappointing. why does he pick up needless bookings all the time . Still think he will come good
Hollands 6 Tried hard to get us going
Stephens 5 Very disappointing should have been subbed earlier
Jackson 7 I like Jacko and feel a lot of his good work gets unnoticed , his set plays are always potent its a shame noone made use of them today
Kermorgant 6 Some good knock downs
Wright Phillips 5 Off the pace today , should have scored . Maybe he needs a rest.
Wagstaff n/a Hope he starts next week
Evina n/a Should have been brought on at least 15 minutes earlier
Hamer - 5. - poor flapped, distribution deadful, what was he doing when he lost the ball out on the wing - but had no chance with goal
Cort - 7 - decent game and came closet to scoring although distribtion wasnt great
Morrison - 5 - o dear, not a full back - not his fault he offered nothing
Taylor - 6 - did ok
Wiggins - 7 - at least tried to play some football
Green - 6 - still trying to find his way in the team
Hollands - 6-
Stephens - 5.5 - never got on the ball much
Jackson 6.5 -
Kermorgant - 4.5 - our whole strategy was trying to play the ball to his head but he seemed more intent on pusing the centre half and climing free kicks - so slow off the pace and was always way behind on the few occassions we attacked fast
Wright Phillips 6 - nothing cam off for him but he wasnt helped by some strange referreeing
powell - 5 - we played so weel as sunt but 4 changes from that team - why? tactics - we play a big physical team so we try and play long ball ?? why o why
Hamer 4 - Massive ego, terrible kicking. Cort 6 Morrison 5 Taylor 5 Wiggins 5 Green 4 Biggest disappointment for me but although had no back up, no excuse. Hollands 5 Stephens 4 Old fashioned bottle job! Didnt fancy it one bit. Jackson 7 Best player for us Kermorgant 5 Wright Phillips 5
Wagstaff n/a Evina n/a Hayes n/a
Front two were p poor (although no decent service, at least show). Midfield didn't fancy it. Playing Morrison at Right back to accomadate Cort! How about your top of the league and make them worry about your strengths?
Thought today CP had a mare.
Most bizarre supporters ever, saw 3 in fighting rows with blokes of 50+!!
Hamer 5 Continues to look like an accident waiting to happen. Not at fault for the goal, but a clownish mistake also lead to a second. Poor communication was demonstrated when Morrison twice cleared balls that he should have made his.
It was 1-0 not sure how this clownish mistake lead to a Second?
Hamer - 6 Shouldn't be blamed for kicking long....there was no-one to throw to.
Cort - 7.5 Impressive....especially as he hasn't played much.
Morrison - 6 Stuck at it but was never going to offer anything offensively.
Taylor - 7 Knows how to position himself and won his headers.
Wiggins - 7 Full of energy. If we had had someone like him on the other flank we could have really pinned Stevenage back.
Green - 6 Had a decent first half and put over two very good crosses (the one he dug out from the corner flag was superb) but faded with the rest of the team.
Hollands - 6 Good first half.
Stephens - 6 Same as Hollands.
Jackson 6.5 - links well with Wiggins and put a good cross in for Cort. Good close control.
Kermorgant - 6 We know he can head but can he shoot? Nobody knows. Lots of effort but a bit too much rolling around second half.
Wright Phillips - 6 Tried hard but was mainly feeding of scraps. Did all of his decent work outside the box.
Hamer- 4 Flapped about, somewhat indecisive if he wasn't so sure - poor distribution Cort - 6 Was the good part of the defence but has not practiced in tandem with either Morrison or Taylor and that was patently clear Morrison -4.5 Not his fault he was played out of position and made a hash of it. The absence of Solly was a clear problem Taylor -5 Tried his best but with Morrison out to his right was expecting him closer all the time Wiggins - 6 his pace and interaction with Jackson worked as it should. Had we had SOlly and Waggy on the other wing the game would have been better but because St.Evenage thugs club had only one wing to worry about, they closed this route down effectively Green - 2 When I saw him pre season I thought he would do a job for us delivering balls into the centre from the wing. How we missed Wagstaff and Solly overlapping to carry the ball to the edge or into the box yesterday. I apologise to anyone on other forums who read me calling for Green to start. Hollands - 4.5 - busy day didn't shine Stephens 4.5 busy day didn't shine Jackson - 5.5 would have been 6 but for his bust up with Evina. Not good for the captain to do. Kermorgant - 5.5 put some lovely balls on aplate to BWP who was either offside or ruled offside by the ginger nut lino, but play acting was a worrying aspect of his game. He was clattered but not all the time. Wright Phillips - 5.5 Unfairly treated by the solid flag lino on several occassions. It is not his fault the lino wasn't keeping up with play, but the lino ruled him offside anyway even if he had been a yard on. Lino treated Cort the same way and gave them a corner they shouldn't have had, somewhat puzzling. However, BWP did not have a great game and his pairing with Keremorgant whilst showing signs of development should have been alllowed to gel before all the other changes took place.
Wagstaff 5.5 When he came on I wondered where he would fit in without the supply from Solly. he had a couple of good touches but then I realised he didn't know where he was playing either.
Evina 5.0 looked threatening but again out of position in midfield
Hayes ? did he touch the ball??
No man of the match other than the referee who coped well with his visual disability (could only see men in white being fouled- something to do with red spectrum limitation I guess)
Hamer. 4. Misses crosses and gifted them a free shot on an open goal. Seems to have lost the confidence of his defenders as they ignored him twice. Morrison. 5. Out of position Cort 6 . 5. Solid and nearly scored. Cleared one from under the bar. Taylor 6. Did his job. Ignored Hamer Wiggins 6 got forward well and one great run across the box when he needed to shot but had some dodgy moments at the back Green 4. Poor again. After a bright side faded away to nothing. Poor dead balls also Hollands 6. Battled and took some off the ball stick Stephens. 4.5. Missing in action Jackson 7. MOTM. What little threat we had often came from him Kermorgant. 5.5 little impact but kept trying to make things work Wright-Philips 6.5 our only goal threat. One real chance was from a very tight angle
Hamer - 6 - Made a good save 1st half , went walkabout whilst berating his defence?Cort - 7 Fantastic in the air , but all his headers just gave Stevenage possession back againMorrison - 5 Played out of position , please don't play him there again Chris!Taylor - 6WigginsGreen - 4 This guy has class , but can't seem to get him firing like he did in preseason?Hollands- 5 Bypassed a lot looks knackeredStephens - 4 Game passed him byJackson - 5Kermorgant - 5Wright Phillips - 5 Wagstaff n/aEvina n/aHayes n/a
