Eaxmple total corners in a game the spread firm sets the point at 11 the punter has a choice to pick higher or lower than the mark. So if I think there will be more I go higher and choose a stake, say £10. If in the game there are 15 corners thats 4 Higher than 11 and I win £40. If there are only 9 that 2 lower than 11 and I lose £20.
This is a limited loss type market. But for eaxmple shirt numbers the spread firm says the Shirt numbers of all players scoring in a game is 30 ( thats the players shirt numbers who score added together. I fancy it will be nil/nil I go lower than 30 for £5 a point. The game ends up 2-2 and a sub comes on scores twice with number 44 on his back along side a palyer with 6 and a player with 11. Total make up 105 oops. Thats 75 more than 30, so I have lost 75 x £5 -= £375
Cheers Ralph, I was actually refering to the finacial spreadbetting i.e IG Index, but I guess it works the same other than you are betting on markets / share pricing going up or down.
The reason I ask is I work at an investment bank (im not a banker, I work in IT) but all the guys here are all over it, most of them say they make an extra £100- 500 a week and its tax free... I'd like to get in on that action so wondering if there was anyone on here who may be able to give me some advise.
