Dr Liam Fox

Just wondering if anyone else has ever taken their best mate (who has nothing to do with the company) along to a work meeting with them?

Funny you should ask that... no - why the hell would I?

Very, very strange situation. If the guy is not being paid by the Government and not being paid by the Tory party, who is paying him to sit with his besssy mate and why? If nobody is paying him, where does his income come from?

Aparently he is not Security Cleared - now I used to have Security Clearance, but it's now lapsed - I can't get anywhere near a job in Government these days, so how was he allowed in?

  • No worse than taking your kids to work.

Leave him alone, he's had a tough time.  He got burgled while he had a special friend staying round at his house.  Not the one he takes to meetings abroad.

  • No wonder we have lost our respect for Politicians, it's one disaster after another.
  • It was alleged that Iain Dowie brought his brother Bob to Charlton "to help out", whilst Bob was employed by Palace.
  • Fox also went on holiday to a villa in Spain with his wife  - and the best mate.

Bit like the "comfort blanket" that kids have to take everywhere with them?
  • AFKA used to take Friend or Defoe to work with him.
  • I think we all know what is going on. Why doesn't someone just say it?
  • Stinks to high heaven. The company that bubbled him lost a Government contract  this would be the same company who actually paid for a jolly for Labours front bench when in office.

I think the Torys dont mind Fox getting  grief as it deflects from  just how far in the kak we really are, with no sign of it getting any better for a long old time.

How are you using the term 'burgled'?

  • Just in case anyone wanted to know what he looks like;

  • Do you reckon they are 'at it' as my old nan used to say?

As in, they got in round the back.

  • Thanks guiness.

  • Sneaky butcher.
  • Who paid for his trips abroad ? The taxpayer ? Liam Fox ? Or himself ? All very murky as far as I am concerned.
  • The business cards annoyed me- I think most people would get sacked if they had done the same - he should resign immediately -he'll go eventually anyway.
  • It's worth bearing in mind that we sell a lot of things to other countries that we might be a little ashamed about sometimes.

Plausable Denial, enables senior figures to absolve themselves of any connection to unsavoury stuff - but we must have SOMEONE to put these deals together.

    I wonder how it's done ?????????????????
  • Talking of business cards, this made me laugh!

Be the envy of Westminster with your own Liam Fox business card

  • Good job we have all conveniently forgotten about Rupert Murdoch, phone hacking scandals, and his best mate David "I know nothing" Cameron.
  • Another Tory politician being economic with the Werritty.

I thought this lot were going to be whiter than white? So far we've had William Hague taking his "adviser" on holiday with him, David Laws fiddling his expenses, Cameron employing criminals to do his PR and now this.

Whenever has a Tory ever been whiter than white?

This should read any politician been whiter than white; reads as a weak left wing bias - labour's mp's have been regularly exposed as equally/more corrupt
  • It won't suit Cameron to sack him. Fox will be free of cabinet responsibility to toe the govt line and will cosy up to the Tory backbench headbangers who hate the Cameron project and blame him and Steve Hilton for not winning the 2010 election. The plot is probably to let Fox look more and more stupid and force him to resign as damaged goods, unable to lead a backbench revolt on Europe/immigration/whatever.

And, yes, less attention is paid to the stuff that matters.

  • Its a surprise that Cameron should worry so much about one mans job when he could not care less about the jobs of so many others
  • It all went pear shaped when he left Capital FM

Yes but I thought D Fox would have been able to 'magic' up an answer.............................

  • Brass eye. Now that brings back some good memories. Loved the anti- cake campaign. :-)
