According to the O/S the sales of Courage Best has been falling in recent months & they are having to throw away too much & are therefore losing money.
On saturday in the upper North , When i asked why they couldn't pour the beers before the punters come down for half time , the young lad just looked at me as if I was talking Japanese. Its nothing to do with not selling the real ale it's the time it takes to get served. The service is appalling.
Shutting the small bar at the east side of the north upper was a mistake. The queues are ridiculous. Half the people waiting just give up. If all of the available outlets were opened and they poured pints out in advance then sales would increase.
We've stopped going into the North Upper pre match & go in Bartrams. Mainly due to the appalling service at the bar in the North Upper. They either don't know the difference between lager and bitter or they don't even realise they've got a guest beer on tap & that's before the crowds arrive!!!!! I know they probably don't get paid a great deal but come on, if the Club really want us to drink in the ground the service has to be better. The staff in Bartrams are great, so it can be done.
I asked the fella behind the bar in Japanese why they couldn't poor the beer before people came down at half-time, he said he didn't know.
Id have a beer at half-time if I didn't have to come down 10 mins before the end of the 1st half but there's no chance of getting a drink before the 2nd half started so I stopped ages ago.

Unless sales increase the beer may be withdrawn.
Drink up Charlton !
Not served in the west , otherwise i might be able to help out.
Why not just get bottled ale? I had one pint of Best in the North upper and it was awful. I'm not paying for that or Lager. Surely a bottles only bar/queue would decimate the queing time.
"1 Lager, 1 ale and a Cider for the lady" -"£9 please " Done.
"2 bottles of ale please." - "£6 mate" "Cheers" Done. Almost quicker than i can type it.
It has been like this for so long that if anyone ever does decide to pour some out a few minutes before the half time whistle goes the club will need to advertise it widely because many drinkers no longer even bother to queue.
Have a bar at which its £3 a pint or a fiver for two, right money only, and watch 'em shift (provided it has been poured that is!
Because you can't take it into your seat even in a plastic cup, you ain't going to wait until kick-off to buy a pint unless you want to down it in one. Funny how you can take it into your seat at rugby matches but not at footy. Whose rule is that?

Actually I find it incredibly annoying at rugby as it means people are always getting up and down, the whole crowd seems restless. Besides, how many pints would you like thrown over yourself every time we score? I'd rather we keep it to the concourse, and get them pulling pints earlier

Encouraging extra beer drinking at football!
Disgraceful.

They have two speeds this season. Slow and stop .

I got there just before the whistle had been blown, stood there the whole of half time whilst the server managed to serve one (yes one!) person.
They only had a couple of pints and some food as well.
The people they have working there are useless - it's been super slow to get served this season.
If the club pre poured say 100 pints at each bar like every other club in the world it wouldnt be an issue.
Rather a 5 minute old pint I can drink in 10 mins than a fresh one I need to drink in 1.

We all know this....so why don't people at Charlton (especially the catering side) do it?
Such a missed opportunity to make some money!!! (And not waste good beer!)

And it would keep forever. (Practically)
