Very annoying to move the kick off so late on news year eve.

  • thats annoying

  • They really are messing up with new years arent they?

Odd one, i cant work out if this works in my favour or not as did plan to go to this one.

  • So the game will finish at gone 7 then on New Years Eve!

That's me and my lad not attending then

  • In fact this is bizarre.
  • Will be a case of turning up in the dancing shoes to the game.  We'll probably look like a mob of 80s casuals.

  • one day they will televise a far away league tie, the lazy geets
  • In fact this is bizarre.
Very, who would want to watch football then?

Very annoying and makes things a lot more difficult.

rrrrr. dont fancy trying to get back from London at that time innew years eve.
  • What happened last time New years eve fell on a Saturday?  I cant remember?

Could they not have moved all games to new years day?

  • Wow, we're on a Sky a lot this year for a League One club.

Really weird time for a football match though.

  • I had to do a double-take - what a strange time to televise a football game!

Thoughless and selfish on a day when transport will be difficult they've made it very hard now for the fans. Rules me out now as have to work from 7pm in Dartford

Personally don't really care as iv been there quite a few times and will still see the game on tv but cant see more than about 500 Charlton turning up now

Thanks SKY - you dont give a toss about the fans !
  • coming out of the ground at that time, all pubs are shut getting ready for their ticket only nights!

Flipping pain in the backside this.
  • very annoying, got a do that starts at 7.30pm... i love sky, i hate sky..
  • I see some of the games are 1pm kick offs?  Half and half in fact.  Millwall v Palace is 1pm.

  • Have no social life whatsoever so suits me fine.
  • I like it. It now means that I can watch it while I get ready for the New Year celebrations. Well it would do if I has Sky. If I had Sky I'd be really chuffed. It also guarantees that I won't have to get up early on New Year's day to go to an early kick off.
  • Won't be doing anything for new year anyway as I think it's overrated but this just messes things up. I'll be going to it but expect a lot of people to stay home now as it's much easier given the travel, parties etc
  • Worst case make it 11am or 1pm, bet the players are chuffed too

CAFC, Orient and SKY should have consulted the fans over this - without the fans clubs and tv would be nothing
  • Why cant we have a bloody away match against a poxy northern team like Hartlepool or Carlisle on the telly.

  • I think its a good thing! I will be going, this is one of my favourite fixtures in this league. Nipping across the river for a practically nailed on win. Finishes at 7 right? Thats fine, you only need to be wherever you're spending New Years for 12!
  • Doubt many pubs will be showing it because that will be their closing time.

Unless you are working the evening, i don't really see too much problem if you were planning to go in the first place at 3pm. You can be home by 7.30 if you are going out in the evening, and if you're not going out in the evening, you can have a few beers in the afternoon before the game.

Would much rather a 5.20 on NYE than a 12pm on NYD

Do you think the Clubs were consulted or have any say in the matter or that Sky care what we or the Os fans think.

We're top of the league, Sky got a good game out of the same fixture last year and this was a game that the Police wouldn't have any objection to moving (unlike say Spanners v Glaziers).

    That's it.

Might still go depending on when and where I'm going out that night. Lady Irving is working/on call over Xmas/new year anyway.    Not a long drive from Bromley

yeah not the people who have to work or the people who will be spending three times longer to get home than usual, not to mention the pissed off wives and birds who wanna get out the house before 10pm.

Good for children though who dont have to make plans, cant drink or stay out after 10pm

Would much rather 3pm on NYE as advertised. Or 11am or 1pm on NYE which would be sensible. Would also prefer 12pm on NYD so I could actually be at the game.
  • ha, your just peed off because your working in the evening !

good for those who have to work during the day on NYE :-)

  • Shame as I enjoy the fixture, but I'm sure nobody at the club will be upset about the extra money.

Agreed. Few beers in the afternoon - game - beers in the evening and then feel sorry for myself NYD
  • Well I had planned for me and a mate to go leaving the WAG's at home drinking wine and looking after the kids and us rolling home 7ish for a nice meal etc etc.

As we wouldnt get home now till 8.30-9.00 which is too late for the kids to eat we will now watch it at my place.

Minus 2 on the away support not that the club give a toss.

Or failing that we go anyway and come home some time on NYD :)

  • I'm working in Westfield Stratford until 5 that day, so it works in my favour!
