Tranmere and their claret away kit.

edited October 2011 in General Charlton

Do they really have to wear that when they play us at the valley? Like last time out I thought it clashed quite heavily with our kit. Surely their home kit would be ok!?... Typical league 1 tactics.

  • As their first choice kit is all white, that would definately be the better option, albeit, a change of shorts maybe.

As far as I'm aware, this is down to the officials discretion as to if it were allowed.
  • It is indeed. Last round of the cup Lewes played at Chertsey. The wanted to change from their black and red stripes to light blue and white because they carry different sponsors. We concured the sky blue didn't clash as it had a sky blue back but it wasn't ideal. I think when kit clashes are looked at the main two that can't clash are the shirt and socks, the shorts aren't so important. I would say their all white kit is fine. Certainly better than claret!
  • Funny that teams never use to change shorts if they clashed - only shirts and socks. Seems the norm now.

Against that light blue v dark blue never used to be allowed as it is now (everton v manc).

Neither do refs seems so worried abt gk's being similar to teams or themselves now

  • Thats probably because the Ref & gk don't normally go for the same ball ! ;-)
  • the amount of times ive been watchin to football league show and thought i was watching scunthorpe then i realised its tranmere :)
