  • Very impressed with the lad, same with Taylor. Only 23 so got so much more to come from him.
  • Very true, a solid defence wins championships.

I'm been really impressed with him too. Looks a solid, all-round defender. Still young too! Could be a big player for us for years to come.
  • It's been true since football started, flashy attacks wow the fans but good defences win you trophies
  • I absolutely love the guy.  Comitted in the tackle, brave, very good in the air and pretty mobile.  Struck up a great understanding with Taylor and Solly and seems to like having Hamer in behind him.

There will be times when he will get done for pace but there aren't many that will bully him

He's half of the of the best centre half pairings we've had outside the top flight for a very long time if you ask me - and as mentioned at 23 he is future captain material
  • I think it is a partnership that has continuously improved too. Not that it was bad to start with but it can get even better.
  • A prophecy from 1996 ?.........

"So, I'm back up in the game
Running things like half my swing
    Lettin' all the people know
That I'm back to run the show"

  • You could say Chris Powell took a gamble on this lad , but he has been immense this season , the Vidic of League 1 , he just gets on with it , no fuss , top drawer.

Spot on mendonca, been thinking the same, clears up everything & when he's playing he even looks like him.......... or is my imagination running away with me ?

Fortunately he knew Morrison through his time at Leicester so don't suppose it was that much of a gamble -more to do with Chrissy's football intelligence. The word gamble implies luck which I don't think had much of a part in this -  Morrison was part of the Leicester team that got out of this league after all.

Erm yeah ......... to be honest I glazed over that bit, just agreed with the "Div 1 Vidic" as that what he looks like to me when he plays. No more a gamble than most transfers. Obviously saw what megson couldn't !

  • Can't be that good or Megson would never have let him go   ;-)
  • It was so obvious that we needed urgent strengthening down the spine, and credit (again) the scouting/transfer team with securing Morrison & Taylor, and with Morro (& Kermit) obviously SCP must take plenty of the credit himself.

I checked the Sheff W reactions when Morro left.  Sure, there were plenty of good riddance comments, but more than a few sensed there was a decent player in there somewhere.
