anyone remember.........

....the name of a charlton youth team coach in the early 80's.

was talking to someone yesterday who claimed he used to be part of the youth set up and the coach was a bloke called eddie. he couldn't remember his surname, but said it was italian sounding.

no, said he had italian sounding name so don't think so.

pretty sure he said that he had a heart attack and died whilst still a coach for the youth team in the 80's.

    Something like D'Amato?

We had a reserve 'keeper of that name or similar in the mid 80s and I've a suspicion that his father was a coach at the club.

    that'll be nathan amato.

tony (his dad) owns the hairdressers on the green at the yorkshire grey roundabout.

just had a text from another mate who was also in the youth set up in the 80's and he remembers a eddie heath. so much for the italian sounding name.

  • Eddie Soprano?
  • Might have been Eddie the Eagle.............as we were playing in their shitty nest at the time. ;-)
