The pub behind the away end (Bladesmen?) is a definite no no. Before the 2-1 win in 1999, Oakster, myself, razil and a couple of others very nearly got a hiding in there.

"The Bladesmen" doesn't sound like the most welcoming of pubs!HA
The last time i was at a Sheffield game - after the game was a nightmare. We got escorted off the trams and marched all around by the station on to the trains... god knows how i got stuck in amongst all our lot. Driest town on earth that day after the game, alright before, think it was the Howard i went into.
But it was FA cup day and both teams were at home.
That was right after it had kicked off between us and Wednesday right outside the away end. Hence the heavy ob presence. Im sure the game had been a 'police-free' one initially.
Used to live in Sheffield and have been to a few of the Utd v Charlton games up there in my time.
If your travelling up by train i would recommend 'The Globe', its up the elevated walkway straight from the train station leading into the City centre. Good atmosphere in their and cheap drink. 5-10 minute walk from the ground and usually avoids the Police escort for away fans.
Im staying up for a night out on Saturday with a couple of mates after the game, any of the sheff experts got any tips on good places to go for the party addicks?!
Anyone with a bit of time on their hands and wants to watch the scouse derby, best sports bar in town is the common room on division street. good food great tvs including 3d, loads of full size pool tables in separate room and taxi rank outside to hop in for the match.

Vile area, and horrible fans Blades. I used to go up there a lot especially Saturdays.
Get in and out and get some cans for the train back.
