scrap gold

just scrapped some of the mrs's broken gold and got £11 per gram, does anyone know if that is any good at todays rate ?

    £30 plus and you'd have had a good deal- but that's a bullion price. Think you may have been hasty there.

    yer... but bullion is 99% pure, not 9 carat. Completely different kettle of fish

    I've noticed a lot of the companies that buy scrap gold around here have signs saying "we also buy Indian gold".

    Can anyone tell me what the difference is?

    Seriously, there have been a few horror stories about some of these "we buy gold" firms - you send stuff off, get a derisory offer, say no thanks, then they say they have lost it and pay you what they offered in the first place...

    going to an established jeweller can often be better than one of these flashy outfits that's making a profit from people who are desperate for a bit of cash... They are not out there to do you a favour...
