Were you planning on flying in from Luton to Bromley just for this meeting Paul?

    Biggin Hill I assume?

Yes, info re the meeting was unfortunately very hard to find and given out at short notice, even the day (which is usually a Tuesday for Bromley Addicks) has been changed to Wednesday, so a lot of folk will have had to make 'last minute' plans to get there.

And another thing........my half price beer tokens (won in the last Bromley Addicks raffle) are only valid for Tuesday evenings and expire at the end of this month!!!

  • Life can be tough Soundas.

    Tonight's the Night.

See you all there.  No report from me on Thursday as will be too busy so better make the trip if you want to hear their views.
  • Will you tell them about their shoot-out to become a CL sponsored player??
  • Will you tell them about their shoot-out to become a CL sponsored player??
Was tempted but seems a bit unfair on Bradley.

Yes, especially now the poor lad is injured!

  • All I'm going to say is there is a look-a-likes notice board at the training ground and Covered End thinks Matt Taylor is invisible : - )
  • Two very engaging, articulate and grounded individuals who were a credit to the club. A real shame there was a very disappointing turnout, the two players deserved better.
  • Convinced Taylor or Morro as he calls him will score in the next game or two.

    Words synonymous with charlton

Spill the beans cos photographic memory henry is swerving it today
  • Only about 45 people which is low for us and as AFKA said the guys deserved more.

Spoke well, Taylor in particular. You can see why he was skipper at Exeter..

Interesting about the dossiers they get.
  • stop teasing

should be skipper here. Not once seen Jacko cajole or encourage another player, not captain material imo.
  • Not teasing, just running between meetings.
  • ok don't let work blur your memory .... full report when time allows perlease
  • Sorry couldn't be there last night Mr Irving, first one I've missed in a while. Stuck in the studio last night.

    You've changed!
  • Not teasing, just firing off emails to the comms team
  • I didn't feel too well............very tired for some strange reason but so far today I feel OK.

Went to bed about 7.00 and crashed out almost immediately.

Ah but he has good banter and doesn't like listening to garage music
  • 7th Dec is the 25th anniversary celebration of our promotion.

Guests will be John pearson, mike Flanagan and Nicky Johns plus a very special surprise guest whose name even I don't know yet.

Appears players get a dossier on each of the oppo players before each game. Don Revie eat your heart out.

On train so more later but client gave me a glass or two or champagne so most of what was said already forgotten. Such is life.
  • Dalton grant is Chris Powell.

Michael Morrison is Johnny Robinson (not the CAFC winger, the X factor contestant)
  • pic with our life president.  Shame the pic doesn't show that MT showed up in shorts and flip flops or BP foot in a special bootimage
  • Nice picture; they look like a great pair of chaps - no hint of attitude, just having fun.
  • Lovely pic , well done Jean you deserve it!

    in no particular order.

BP came for a weeks trial at the end of the last season and was told at the end of the week that he'd be offered something.

MT impressed with the "gaffer".  Good reputation in the game, every one likes Powell. Honest man which is rare in football.

Powell too nice?  No, he doesn't shout and rant all the time, which doesn't work anyway (MT) but when he needs to he can be tough and say what's what.  More impact that way and makes you sit up and take notice.

Dyer good middle man between the Gaffer and Players.  Uses humour well to release tension.  Takes lots of coaching day to day.

If no midweek game will de-brief on Monday with short highlights from Sat's video.  Training Monday and Tuesday work on weights.  Wednesday rest, Thursday might be working on shape of other side, Light training Friday before travelling by coach to far away games.  Will fly to Carlisle and Hartlepool.

First XI know who's playing on Thurs or Fri when do shape. 7 or 8 subs find out who's on bench on Saturday usually.

BP not thinking of playing for Zimbabwe (where he was born).  Would be nice but not really thought about it and needs to establish himself at Charlton first.

MT is a Man U fan (he comes from Wigan).  Mum is a ST holder at OT and will miss Matt's northern games to watch Utd at home and has done so for years.  Dad is Blackburn fan and will go to see MT when playing up North.

BP doesn't follow a team as came to country at 11 and never affliated to anyone.  Certain cynical Lifers present suspected this meant he was/is a palace fan.  Olly your memories of this?

BP went to School with Stacy Long who will be playing for Stevenage.  remembers Ollywozere and his sister was in his class.

Favourite players in their positions.  Iniesta and Vidic

MT doesn't know how to dive and couldn't believe he was booked.

No complacency v Tranmere just didnt create as many chances as we normally do (MT)

partnerships important all over the pitch (MT)  Solly and Wiggins are both excellent young players.

Kermit puts it about in training

BP 6 weeks till he can run then maybe another 3 before ready but healing well.

BP Masters degree left him in debt!    MT keen to stay in football as a coach hence degree in coaching.  Has level 2 and planning to do Uefa B soon.

BP very impressed with facilities and how professional at Charlton.  No more drying kit on car heater on way to training.

MT seen what other league 1 promoted clubs have done and we can do similar but need to focus on this season and getting up out of this division first.

Paul Tisdale took "deserved" stick for his dress sense but is an excellent coach who will go further up the leagues.

  • Sound like a couple of nice lads. Thanks Henry.
