did he just need playing time? Some people may disagree aha

  • I agree totally, he's been amazing this season, a revelation. Some on here though consider he has not improved at all, that he was always the absolute perfect player

Yet again you get it wrong Lincs and make up something no one ever said to try make a pathetic point.  Are you really as stupid as your posts make you look?

What I and many others said was the Solly has always been a good player but now even blinkered people like you Lincs are having to admit it when before you dismissed him  because of his height and your ignorance.

OK, off to watch the boys play tonight and can't be bothered to point out you stupidity any more this evening.  Enough people have been doing that over the past few days so I'm sure it's nothing new to you Lincs and that you really don't care.

    Oh Henners ...

He has certainly proved me wrong as I'd considered him a weak link. We still have a height issue at set plays though.
  • How tall is Solly?

I have that deja vue feeling..
  • I reckon Arsene was given duff information. Jenkinson or Solly plus a £1 million? I'm happy with that business!

Disagree, stick him on the post at corners or in the wall if its a free kick situation and even if he does get exposed at the far stick in open play he has shown he is clever enough to prevent his opponent from getting a clean header in. In the form of his life so far, after a great start last year only to be hindered by injury. Well done Chrissy boy more of the same please.

  • I must admit I had my reservations but on Saturday as with most of this season he has been very impressive
  • He hasn't improved, he's just got taller.
  • Only 2 fouls all season?

He's not even a very naughty boy.

  • I don't know - I think he needs to score more.

     ;-)
  • I can't believe Arsenal let him go.
  • I've only been to 2 games so far this season but in both of them Solly was MOTM in my opinion. Fantastic workrate and great tenacity. My only concern is height but full back is probably the position where that matters least so I'm not really that bothered.
  • Alan Wright, 5 ft 4, very, very good right back for Aston Villa about 10 years ago.
  • A mate of mine (who is a big Solly critic) went to his first game of the season against Exeter and said CS was outstanding.

He is winning the doubters over (incl. me), by letting his football do the talking, and I say a massive "well done" to him for that.
  • Who cares how tall he is? Some of the very best players in the world are small. He's not a centre back, where you need height (especially in England).

He's a good young player, I don't agree that Arsenal were wrong to sell him, he's not THAT good in my opinion. He has a lot of potential though and could play regularly in the Premiership (bottom half) one day.
  • I can't believe Arsenal let him go.
according to his CAFC profile he was 12 when Arsenal 'released' him. Him and probably about 50 others from the primary school development squads
  • I always thought he had a lot of potential but until this run in the side, wasn't 100% if he'd be good enough. I'd hoped we could sign a solid RB and have him as decent cover. Now we just need the decent RB as we already have the solid one. On this (early) form he's a contender for POTY imo.

On another note, definition of opinion

My opinions re football definitely fall under the first, I thought that was the case with everyone here. Little did I realise we had an expert available to tell us when we are incorrect.... and so politely too. When I grow up I want to be an expert too (not that you need to be a grown-up it seems).

Surely any proposition, proposal, submission or statement outside proven scientific FACT is an 'opinion'. I think Messi is a great player, my friend thinks he's a short arsed little tosser, both opinions and both equally valid in the eyes of the person expressing the 'opinion'. Many many more people who follow football would agree with me than with my friend I woulod suggest.  However, for example,  a devoteé of Rugby Union might well agree with my friend.  Opinions eh, tricky subject aint it
  • I have always rated him highly. He has improved but he was very good at the start of last season. I am hoping that a Prem club doesn't come in for him because if they do, we are stuck with... won't say the name before I set people off again. He has been really really good for us so far this season and I am happy for him. People are finally starting to recognise his ability and I am glad Powell is giving him praise too.

    Keep it up S-Dog!!!

    who wouldn't? ; )
  • With the arrival of Green, Stephens, Wiggins etc and the fans wondering how they will set us alight. It's been Chris Solly who has been Mr. Consistent. Maybe the new arrivals was a welcome distraction.

They couldn't afford Francis, that's why they settled for his apprentice. ;)
  • The only way for young players to develop into first team players is to play them regularly in the first team, surprisingly.

    I'm delighted with Solly's progress.

Sounds like a school "Open Evening" report with the parents.
