I just wish there was some consistancy with this. Yes, I agree he fully deserved getting sent off but It seems that any of the big boys such as Rooney (the worst offender in my opinion) can virtually scream in the refs face that he's an utter C**T and a cheat and yet the ref simply ignores it.
I recall one game when we played spurs at home in the prem, one of their players (can't remember who) was flagged for offside. A couple of minutes later when the linesman flagged again I clearly heard the player shout to the linesman "put that flag down you cheating prick". He certainly heard this comment but chose to ignore it. When I referee on a sunday morning, I certainly won't allow it.
I thought the ref got it wrong and the No 2 was guilty of abusing the lonesman????
How can you say the ref got it wrong? you don't no what he said but whatever it was it must have been way over the top (and that takes a lot in football)
Exeter the no 2 abused the linesman during the stop in play, the crowd cheered. The ref turned to talk tothe linesman and the culprit had walked back towards his own goal, the ref discussed with the linesman and went towards the home end and sent the wrong payer off.
Was definatly the correct player sent off. 1) it was the bloke who had the shot which did/didn't go over the line. 2) he was a striker so doubt he was number 2 playing up front. 3) there would have been a big protest from the exeter players saying you have got the wrong bloke
The Guy never stopped ranting at the Linesman ---surely he is not that thick to think 10 minutes after the event the ref will award a goal.
I bet he has some fine coming his way..............he was totally un -professional and if i was a travelling Exeter fan i would demand an apology from him-he should have just got with the game.
If that was one of our players and he got sent off -imagine the job he would have winning his place back after 3 weeks out.

If his name is Bradley Wright phillips then quite easily I would imagine.
On a seperate note, I realised we might have had a bit of a homer referee when one of their players was booked for dissent when the ball went over the line for a throw and he kicked it into the east stand. not long before that, solly had done the same thing on the opposite side, just helping the ball over the advertising hoarding to prevent Exeter taking a quick throw. The ref had a quick word with the s-dog but no more.
Not complaining though. Just makes a pleasant change.............
Vine had the shot that went over the line the player that got sent off was at the far post so could see it. To be fair on the replays it did go over. He wont be abusive to the officials again so lesson learnt.

Not quite, Vine had the original shot that Hamer saved. It was Nardiello's touch that edged over the line (although playing with the pause button on the BBC site's highlights I don't think it's as conclusive as people are suggesting). Nardiello was sent off for something he said to the linesman about it 5 minutes later. For all we know he could have called him a cheating country boy, in which case he'd have fully deserved his card.
Incidentally, it seems impossible that Solly's shot wasn't over the line from the same highlights. It bounced behind a defender who was stood on the line.
Something tells me that Mr Tisdale might not have been so accepting of the ref's decision had the wrong man got sent off. I didn't hear what he said, but from the reports I've heard he called the lino a cheat amongst a string of (not mild) expletives. That being the case, it's a definite red.
What was said? Please use *'s in place of expletives.
According to Kevin Nolan he said this, "You’re a *******” waste of space, he announced, ” and while we’re at it, you’re also a ****** **** of ********, not to mention a complete ******.”
According to the guy phoned up 606 on Saturday evening he called him an effing, cheating c.

It would be nice to think that but in reality there's not a chance that the lesson's been learnt. How many times do we see players booked or sent off for the same thing? How many times do we see players booked for taking their shirt off for instance....?

What game are we talking about

Apparently the Exeter players were livid with him for letting the side down.

And he got a 2 match ban...foul and abusive is usually one but the severity of the language may have doubled the punishment....
