  • We will also be talking about the amazing few people that decided to start booing at 330pm in the lower Covered End and in the East Stand.

Ask them why do they come to The Valley but don't support the team?
  • unfortunately we arnt going to be talking to them (just about them) but it would be nice to know what was going through their minds

That fact that after 30 mins, we're not 6-0 up. Exeter are, after all, a League 1 team. ;-)
  • These people are an embarassment and the only thing that can come of it is that it will make the new players nervous and derail our promotion push. I'm really hacked off about this, I hope someone calls in who was booing and explains their actions
  • If our was one of our players i would have been shocked yesterday. It would make me think what am I doing here. Were getting booed for keeping the ball. As Powell said the key word was patience. Switch the play from side to side. Play it back forward back. It will frustrate the other team then we can pick them off at the right time. Muppets who booed have never played the game before
  • I am struggling to see any logic to that booing. as I remember it wasn't just an isolated individual responsible but a good few. What on earth do these people get out of coming to watch football and supporting their team.
  • Sometimes I think it would be better to have a packed smaller ground with 10,000 loyal supporters who are prepared to support the team thru 90mins than a large ground with groups of prats everywhere. We've got a good group of new players who don't know any different, no good can come out of booing, it was quite clear that the players would eventually open exeter up in the end and fortunately they did which shut them up but during the 2nd half the atmosphere was once again on a knife edge when the players most needed the support.

80,000 Man Utd fans don't get on their backs cos they are 0-0 against Wolves after 40mins - you can't win every game 5-0 for christ sake.

If you booed yesterday and want to explain why then please get yourself on the show tonight and have the guts to explain yourself. Harsh words but we don't need it !
  • Unfortunately Steve Brown and Cliff Myers couldn't join us tonight due to technical issues, he is confirmed as a guest for next week at 8pm
  • I find it totally and utterly ridiculous that some of the fans boo when we have not lost a game and we are sitting top 2. We are like the Arsenal fans, never easy to please at the moment. Those fans should stop and think of the plymouth fans and what they are going through at the moment.

We had the right to boo last season because we won't good enough but we have spent a lot on players and building for the future. As far as I am concerned we can play rubbish every game as long as the result is good for us. I remember I won't happy the way we played 1999/00 at times but we still finished as Champions.

These fans seriously need a reality check.

  • Was genuinely embarrassed at times yesterday. I fear 18 new signings and a "feel good factor" about the club might be a blessing but also a curse, people in their droves are expecting to turn up and see us win every game 5-0 more than they were already.

I said to my old man about a minute before our first yesterday, I can see us getting noticeably booed/jeered off at half time here. If anyone can honestly clearly and cogently explain how slamming the ball 50 yards up the park in the air on the head of a 6'5" centre half every first touch is better than passing it around the back 4/keeper when there isn't an option be my guest. Pathetic.
  • Do you think people have become too unrealistic , i loved it that the north stand seemed up for a party , with the cow bells , trumpet and drums , they just kept going and going.

I don't think people have 'become' unrealistic, I genuinely think some of our fans just can't appreciate how big a part possession plays in the modern game. They'd rather we hoofed the ball into the box than keep the ball. It wouldn't be an issue if they didn't scream 'get it forward' at the top of their voices, and start booing when we pass it back to the keeper.
  • Mendonca thay were brillant thats what we need every game even when things are not going right .

    Agreed.

I also think the frustration came about because Exeter only had 10 men, the game slowed down a bit and the ball was going nowhere except sideways on occasion.

I said on the player stat thread that perhaps Powell could have gone 3-5-2, they posed very little threat with one up top.

That said and done I didnt hear any booing (NW Upper/NW Quad). I had a few moans n groans when Hayes mis-controlled yet again in the second half, but anyone who boos a team when they are trying to unlock another team when they have everyone behind the ball, should not go anywhere near a football stadium, Sky Sports would suit them down to the ground.
