In the NW corner. Wagstaff put it down and tapped it, hoping no-one would notice but one of their players did and it was chase between Stephens and their player. Man U did something similar a few years back and it resulted in a (disallowed) goal.
yeah that was a poor attempt at a cheeky one and dale stephens wasn't cool enough to bluff it out and say i'm going to take a corner what you doing mr exeter player!
We did this earlier in the season as well , if I remember correctly. Worked a little better last time but still a waste if it goes wrong like today.
True, he should he put another high cross over for their keeper to catch
I think it would've been great if it would've worked , but it seemed like nobody knew what he was going to do . Our corners need to be worked on in general.
It is not illegal i dont think as long as you inform the ref you will doing the corner before the game. My under 16 scored with it last year but ref didn't allow it as we didn't inform him, we then informed a ref in another game and fooled it up completely and lost possession. Word travels fast in any league so you only really get 1 decent shot at it and int worth the risk. Probably hence Exeter clocking it y'day.
I've done a refereeing course, and it is legal. One the player has touched the ball then it is live, meaning another player can come over and take it. I agree that it's good if we can get it working, but it's difficult to execute and quite unreliable.
Even though I was in the upper north, I'll admit to missing it. However, looking at the clip above of man utd, The problem I see is that Rooney, rather than touching the ball to bring it into play, dragged it back with his foot.
I am a qualified Referee but this is a grey area and I think it's one of those that's down to the refs discretion.

The player places the ball in the quadrant and taps it forward........ the ball is now in play.

If he touched the ball only once, no problem.
He can not then take a 2nd touch, as another player must then play the ball.
