Lee Martin, the best player he's played with?!? Shame he couldn't do it on the pitch.
we're thinking along different paths here, I rate Martin highly and wish he was here now. He was ill used by Parkinson .. he just needs to improve his on field behaviour
Ha southend he requested me after we had dinner... well I sat next to him at the upbeats. The and I sent him some pics. but when I saw him at the next do he didn't remember me. I was most hurt.
Martin tried to do too much in matches, over egging the cake - but you could never accuse him of hiding.
He rarely seemed to show mental awareness as a footballer. But you couldn't fault his footballing skills or enthusiasm.
As he gets older, I've no doubt he'll mature and become a very effective player as he gains experience and awareness.
the points you make about Martin are common amongst loanees at many clubs, too eager to impress whereas a permanent player has some 'employment security'. Recently Reid had the same problem, too greedy and a definite cake over egger
Reid was a permanant player last season and had the same faults.
Martin has been the same at every Club hence why he was available on loan.
Far from misusing him Parky was the first manager to give him regular games. He improved that much under Parky that Ipswich took him back and he won a regular starting place.
All this loan bashing is tedious Lincs, please don't ruin another thread with it.
