Somerton said 'Hamer 5 at fault for goal kicking was poor, not good at crosses
Solly 6 got beaten once badly in 2nd half, going forward lost the ball to often
Morrison  6 solid heading but seemed to tire
                          Taylor 6 annonymous
Wiggins 6 had ok game about it

Its all about opinions but was he only watching the front 6 ??? Hamer may be the best keeper witth the ball at his feet since Mike Salmon. Solly, Morrison and Taylor all had good games and defended well in a swirling wind and Wiggins was marginally the worst of the bunch .........Should've gone to Specsavers!

  • Hamer - 7 - Looked OK apart from goal - but could have been fouled.
Solly - 7.5 - Ran his little legs off.  Good positioning.
Morrison - 8 - Very solid got most headers and gives 100%
Taylor - 7 - Good pairing with Morrison.  Did his job.
Wiggins - 6.5 - Did OK - didn't see much going forward.  Would like to see Evina given a go.
Wagstaff - 6.5 - Great energy and balance with Solly.  Still looked fitter & faster than Euell even after 80 mins.
Stephens - 6 - Quiet game but midfield bypassed for large parts of the game.  Should have scored the open goal.
Hollands - 6 - Quiet by his standards.
Jackson - 6 - Great first half and quality crosses.  Did he even play in the second half?
Hayes - 6 - Poor control and several misplaced passes.  Nervous on TV?
Wright Phillips - 7.5 - GREAT goal.  Tracked back a lot.  Really put in a shift.

Euell - N/A - Waste of time bringing him on!  Slow and appeared a bit disinterested.  Didn't seem to have anyone on the bench capable of freshening up the attack.  Bring back Benson & start Green (when well) and keep Waggy's energy for the last 20 mins.

    Hollands 6
    Jackson 6.5
Hayes 5.5 (what happened to his lovely first touch?)
    Wright Phillips 8
  • Hamer - 6 Solid but didn't have to do much
Solly - 6.5 - Lots of endeavour, but didn't attack as much as was needed
Morrison - 7 - Stood up against some physical players
Taylor - 7 - Solid and looked a threat in their box
Wiggins - 7 - Kept his man quiet, needs someone in front of him to release his inner winger
Wagstaff - 6 High workrate, but crossing let him down
Stephens - 5.5 - Muscled out by Prutton and Semedo
Hollands - 7 Good game spread it about well
Jackson - 5.5- Quiet game.  Should try playing out wide
Hayes - 6 - Came deep and picked up a lot but treated the ball like a hot potato at times.
Wright Phillips - 7 Hard working and scored a great goal.  Proper forward.

    Hollands 6
    Jackson 6
    Hayes 6
    Wright Phillips 6.5
  • Hamer 6 Little to deal with, tried hard with distribution to give forwards a chance
Solly 7.5 Another solid display. Stands his ground so well
Morrison 7.5 Both he & Morrison dealt v well with sometimes physical Weds
Taylor 7 As above (I just noticed Morrison more this time!)
Wiggins 6 Stuck to his task but hopefully still has more to come joining attack in home games. Might we see it on Saturday?
Wagstaff 6.5 Scared them with his running in the first half. Faded with the team in second.
Stephens 6.5 Tried hard to carry the game to Weds as they got on top but never at his fluent best
Hollands 6 Like many, vg first half before fading
Jackson 6 Pretty much as above. So rarely gives up possession cheaply and makes it look so easy
Hayes 6 Again a better first half than second. Put in a good stint before tiring without looking really threatening
Wright Phillips 7 So clever; always looking to provide the unexpected - as he did in the third minute.

  • Hamer 6 - didn't convince in his area and kicking a mixed bag
Solly 8 - proper full back, probably our motm
    Morrison 7.5 - solid as a rock
Taylor 7 - strong as ever
Wiggins 7 - defended well, has yet to show the attacking side. Evina on the bench might push him on.
Wagstaff 7.5 - Great first half display, worked hard second when midfield were beginning to get bypassed
Stephens 6 - not his best game for us, and miss was probably pivotal point in the game
Hollands 7 - always tried to get involved and make things happen
Jackson 6 - decent first half, anonymous second.
Hayes 6.5 - links play well but expecting him to win high balls against a 6'6 defender is hardly playing to his strengths
Wright Phillips 7.5 - worked very hard, some very nice touches and brilliant goal.
  • Hamer 5.5

  • Hamer - 6.5 - Nervous and please clear the ball earlier, I though I was gonna have a hearty!
Solly - 7.5 - Good game, one error that stood out, otherwise good.
    Morrison - 7 - Good
    Taylor - 7 - Good
Wiggins - 4 - Very Poor, not impressed, seems lighweight.
Wagstaff - 6.5 - Good link play with Solly in the first 15 minutes
Stephens - 6 - Lacklustre, succumbed to the Bullying. Should have scored.
Hollands - 6 - Played too deep as did the whole midfield
Jackson - 6 - Not his best game, faded at times
Hayes - 7 - Needs to work on his first touch. Good work rate though
Wright Phillips - 8.5 - Great work rate and well taken goal.

Chris Powell - 3 - Tactically Naive, needs to be more positive, should have gone 451 with Pritchard, Hoofball was not working, played it safe, did not want to lose instead of going for the win. That said I am sure he has learned from yesterday.
  • Hamer 6
    Solly 6
    Morrison 7.5
    Taylor 7.5 MOM
    Wiggins 5
    Wagstaff 5
    Stephens 5
    Hollands 6
    Jackson 5
    Hayes 5
    Wright Phillips 6.5

    Euell 5
  • Hamer 5 Does not inspire confidence and at fault for the goal. The lynch mob would be going bananas if Elliot had let that one in
Solly 6 stuck to his task but heavily reliant on Waggy bailing him out
    Morrison 7 solid
Taylor 7.5 solid and showed a bit in the oppo box too
Wiggins 7 best I've seen from him so far
Wagstaff 7 helped Solly well but semmed to fade as an attacking force in the 2nd half
Stephens 6 Some good work early on but went missing and an awful miss which probably cost two pints
Hollands 6.5 started well but, like Stephens, faded as Prutton began to boss it
Jackson 6 Worked better than previously with Wiggins I thought but not as potent in attackas he has been previously
Hayes 6.5 ran his nuts off but a difficult night for him
Wright Phillips 7 took his goal well and worked hard too

Euell n/a 6 one wide shot otherwise pretty anonymous

Hamer 5 - Only had to defend corners and didn't do that very well. Some good distribution, some bad.
Solly 7 - Starting to love the little man. Gets stuck in & usually wins it. Occasional panicked hoof, but liking his work.
    Morrison 7 - Solid
    Taylor 7 - See above
Wiggins 7 - More impressed with his defending, some great challenges. Passing & attacking play not as good last night
Wagstaff  6.5 - Sound defensively but final ball let him down too often. Like the rest of the midfield, had little impact 2nd half.
Stephens 6 - didn't influence the game enough. Terrible miss. Needs to be more involved as his distribution is excellent.
Hollands 6 - Got stuck in but faded as a force 2nd half.
Jackson 6 - Quiet game. OK but not influential enough.
Hayes 7 - Worked his arse off for little reward.
Wright Phillips  8 - MOM Great goal and also tracked back, was creative and always an outlet

Euell 5 - Did very little and lacked Hayes' mobility

SCP - Considering we have a big squad, we didn't have enough on the bench to change things and go for the winner. Needed another attacking option. - Evina if Green's out. Megson changed things to stifle our midfield and it worked. We need to be able to overcome the likes of Megson.
  • Hamer  6
    Solly  7.5
    Morrison  6
    Taylor  6
    Wiggins  7
    Wagstaff  5.5
    Stephens  5.5
    Hollands  6
    Jackson  6
    Hayes  6
    Wright Phillips  7

All fairly average. Solly was our best player and was also impressed with Wiggins. Stephens and Wagstaff get low scores because of the high standards they have set.

  • Hamer 6 nothing to do
Solly 6.5 did what he had to do
    Morrison 7.5 nice commitment
    Taylor 7.5 mom
Wiggins 5 Poor game.  Much more of this and Evina might get a shot.  Careless in possession and misjudges the flight of the ball FAR too often
Wagstaff 6 Started well but faded
Stephens 5 The game passed him by a bit.  Awful miss and midfield were overrun for much of the game
Hollands 6.5 Plenty of industry and tackling but not a lot going forward.
Jackson 5.5 quiet by his standards
Hayes 4 Very poor.  Didn't challenge for headers and looked generally weak. Needs a rest
Wright Phillips 6.5 Worked hard and took his goal well

Euell 5 Substitution was too late and Euell didn't offer anything

All in all a frustrating night.  Sheff Weds were crap, unadventurous and boring but got a point.  Our ball possession was poor for much of the game.
We played into their hands by lumping it long and allowing Lurch at the back to dominate.

  • Hamer - 5.5 - looked shaky but can't tell until he's played a number of games with our back four and didnt have a preseason
Solly - 8 - my MOM thought he was excellent all match
Morrison - 7 - Solid and looked un troubled
    Taylor - 7  - same as above
Wiggins - 6.5 - Solid but seems top be caught out of position little too much for a full back
Wagstaff - 6 - Excellent first half, did he come out int he 2nd half?!
Stephens - 6 - Worst game for us, tried too many hollywood balls, looked tired, should have come off for pritchard
    Hollands - 7 - Solid
Jackson - 7 - Helped out wiggins, always an option
Hayes - 6 - Same as waggy but I know he came out second half cos he was subbed!!
Wright Phillips - 8 - close with Solly for mom but excellent goal and ran tirelessly all game

Euell n/a - not the answer, will be very surpirsed if he is still 3rd or even 4th choice when loan window closes, did he touch the ball?

  • Hamer 6 - needs to vary his distribution.
Solly 7.5 brilliant game from him yet again. Tired towards the end
Morrison - 8.5 - MOM - Maybe Sky got the wrong one. A target for Wednesday from the start and was excellent throughout and stood up to everything they could throw at him.
    Taylor -7.5
Wiggins - 7 kicked off the pitch but coped well with it.
    Wagstaff 6.5
Stephens 6 - very quiet game and had he scored it would have been game over and I would have fancied us to put one or two more past them.
Hollands 7 - Just immense in the first. We are quickly beginning to rely on him and it showed when he faded in the second
Jackson 6.5 - should have been used more
Hayes -6 - worst game so far but not his fault when the defence kept bypassing the midfield
Wright Phillips 7.5 - working so hard this season on and off the ball. Top player, far too good for this league. What a goal.

  • Hamer - 6 Didn't have a lot to do. Not sure what happened for the goal. looked like he came out to punch and just missed
Solly - 7 Very solid player. I love that he doesn't give up
Morrison - 6.5 Looked a little sloppy at times, but did grow as the game went on. Still not sure overall to be honest
Taylor - 7 He is definitley improving and looking more at home with us. Solid player, just edges Solly for MOM for me.
Wiggins - 6.5 Feel he could tackle more, but gets good blocks in and made a crucial tackle.
Wagstaff - 6 1st half i thought he would walk MOM, but disappeared in 2nd. Hope Green gets a go soon
Stephens - 5.5 Maybe a controversial low score but personally i thought he did nothing last night. Disappointing.
Hollands - 6.5 I like this guy and makes some good tackles in the middle of the park. Faded a bit towards the end
Jackson - 6 Didn't get as involved as he normally does, but does try.
Hayes - 6 For positioning i think he is great. His pacing (apart from the assist) was very poor last night,
Wright Phillips - 6 After his goal did very little.

Euell - 6 - Will not score the goals we need IMO. We must have Benson on the bench. Damn this 5 sub rule.

Overall - 6 - Looks like we put all our energy into the first 20 minutes then sort of fizzled out. We need to be stronger for set pieces. Not as bad as some of the performances last year, but why did it have to be Morrison who scored. Didn't like that we kept trying the hoofing the ball up front again. I know we are better than that and it was a poor tactic against their defence. Maybe time to swap a couple of players to keep things fresh and keep players on their toes.

  • Hamer 5.5 what was he doing for their goal?
Solly 7 once again did well
    Morrison 7
Taylor 7 Unlucky not to score from the two corner's he won header's on
Wiggins 7 best I've seen him play
Wagstaff 6.5 need's to improve crossing
    Stephens 6 not involved
     at all and lacked creativity
Hollands 8 by far our best player on the pitch, some cracking
    tackles and good passes
Jackson 6 was invisible and not in the game at all
Hayes 4.5 absolute waste of space last night. won no header's and was hardly on the ball
Wright Phillips 7 great goal and was on scrap's the whole game

    Euell n/a
  • Hamer - 6 - Decent, fouled before their goal so not to blame.
Solly - 8 - Frustrated wednesday's winger by tackling well.
Morrison - 7 - Looked solid in the air.
Taylor - 7 - Decent game no big errors.
    Wiggins - 6 - Average. Quiet game.
Wagstaff - 6 - Some good regaining of posession and some decent runs but has to learn to cross!
Stephens - 6 - OK but should have buried chance to make it 2-0.
Hollands - 7 - Great tackling in midfield but gave the ball away cheaply a few times.
Jackson - 6- Unusually quiet, a few stray passes.
Hayes - 5 - Looked sluggish and his usually impressive touch was completely off.
BWP - 7 - Great goal and pestered the defence for the full 90 minutes.
