I was staying with a mate in Didcot at the weekend and as it was non-league day we took in a FA Cup match, the local derby Abingdon Town v Didcot. Although quite a few levels below the non-league friendlies we play, the standard of football was surprisingly good. The two forwards for Didcot were small but had excellent touch and hold-up play, and they soon went in to a two goal lead. However they were not a very tall side and started to drop deeper as full time approached and eventually the equaliser arrived. We got chatting to a guy whose son was right-back for Didcot and it transpired he was a 19yo ex-Charlton trainee, Aaron Turner. He was only about S-dog's size and like Chris he got targeted late on, with their 6ft plus centre forward drifting out to the left, but dealt with him surprisingly well and showed some touches of class, although didn't get forward as much as you'd want a full-back to do. A thoroughly enjoyable day out.
