Unfortunately it seems Hooters is no longer open in Nottingham for pre-match action, does anyone know any good spors bars near the ground ?

Also anyone who is in Nottingham on Saturday and wants to give their pre & post match views to be broadcast on this Sunday evenings show at 7pm on www.charltonchoicetv.co.uk, please tweet us on Saturday @cafcchoicetv to let us know what pub you will be in. We will post out location once we arrive

  • The county club is a mix of home and away fans similar to the lib club in Charlton or you could try the town centre which is very studenty. I think there's a pub the other way from the station to the ground which is on the Trent and quite decent.

Trent Bridge Inn for me, or the place that used to be called the Aviary just before the bridge. Looks like its called The Riverside Bar now?

Not sure if it's one of the ones already mentioned but there is a pub among the cluster of bars on Castle Blvd, had a fantastic beer garden by the water with HD flatscreens for those sat outside. Was up there for my 25th and me and some friends watched England v Japan there before heading to Hooters for the League 2 playoff final.

I live in notts, I know a couple of nice pubs in the city centre that you can enjoy a pint in. Nottingham is getting caught up in the rioting recently (not helped by the local derby) so best to go for the city centre as opposed to around the grounds. If anyone's Planning on making a night of it let me know and I can lend a helping hand and show you the best pubs, clubs, and bars after the game.
For the oldies head up to bridlesmith gate
For the young'uns there is a night on at 'Rock City', and plenty of bars by upper parliament street.
Drum and bass enthusiasts, look up 'Stealth' Nottingham on google and see what's happening.

Larwood and Voce by the cricket ground is a cracking pub.
  • Hooters IS still open in notts.  Follow them on twitter @hootersnotts
  • By the way...you said about about the riots 'not helped by the nottingham derby'  I just had to correct you on this.  There was not one single incident or arrest before, after or during the match.  In fact the police released a statement about it, praising both sets of fans.

A joint statement was read out before the match which got a standing ovation from both sets of fans.

I went to the game with some forest fans and saw a couple of incidents, nothing out of the ordinary mind you. It was an aside, and I agree that the match didn't add any fuel to the fire. No need to go into it seeing as most wouldn't be interested in the happenings up here, especially as they are comparatively less violent than in London...but from what I hear its around the meadows and the factory district where most of the police are stationed, hence my advice to pre game nearer the city center. I'm sure it has calmed down as I can't hear many sirens tonight.
County were unlucky, you played well. I just hope your players are cream crackered.

Can you recommend any dance/house clubs please, if there are any? I've done some research but most of the clubs don't seem to have their own website?

After the week ive had, Hooters would be a very nice distraction for a couple of hours.
  • I'm guessing that if I just follow the crowd out the station I will end up here then. Can't complain.
