A Leeds view on Andy Hughes

  • God knows we've been crying out for a defender that gives 110% every game and is no nonsense. I have no idea why but I just have an idea that AH might be the signing of the summer.
  • sounds good to me
  • Steve Brown................oh yes
  • With RE presumably not starting. Perhaps we have found our new tunnel jumper. Who's gonna tell him.
  • What a strange Summer this has been, rumour after rumour, 15 signings, and right at the last knockings we seem to have found someone with real passion who along with Morrison and Taylor are the sort of guys you need to drag us by the scruff of the neck out of this awful league. Lets make sure that by Saturday we are in the mood and the voice to give them the support that will inspire some wholehearted performances. Bournemouth will give us a stiff test, lets see that we pass it with Colours Flying !

To be honest, let's drop the tunnel jump now. Powelly done it with enthusiasm but Robbie always looked a bit embarrassed when doing it.
  • Bring on the tunnel worm
  • He scored against Millwall at the Den to seal victory for them. That's good enough for me!
  • Can i say on this really positive thread focusing on why we should get behind the team and one of our new signings, i really hate the phrase 110%. I know someone started it either because they didn't understand percentages or to indicate performing the impossible but you now have people saying 115% and a 150%.

By definition you can't have more than a 100%, deal with it

*just to confirm: this is a tongue in cheek post and shouldn't be taken as the cue to start a rant on grammar, spelling or people being negative*
  • Without doubt his finest moment in a Leeds shirt came at Old Trafford, in that legendary F.A. Cup win back in Januray. Tasked with keeping the likes of Rooney, Berbatov, Obertan and later Antonio Valencia and Michael Owen at bay

This sounds good, I am definately looking forward to this season!

  • I agree it is a bit annoying but seems to be the done thing thesedays when describing someone who gives more than most.

You can have more than a 100% on other things just not effort!

    This.
  • How on gods good earth has this thread developed into a criticism . Gives up and logs off.
  • Chill.

    I hope he gives 184% effort! :-)

  • i hope he's good cos i could give 200 % but i wouldn't be as good as anyone in our first 43 squad numbers and i support charlton

    So he's 20% crap, 40% versatile, 50% passionate trier.

    Is that right, OoohAaaargh?

Agreed, I like the cut of his 'jib'. I also echo the Brown shout!
If Dirty Leeds like him then thats good enough for me!

    Agree with this 110%
  • As said before Terry Naylor

Excellent post. 11 out of 10 from me for this.

  • Sounds like another McCormack to me- and we know what most of you feel about him. Give him a chance ffs.

You just couldn't resist could you :-)
  • I reckon there's a 50/60 chance he could start ahead of Solly.
  • Sounds very encouraging, and interesting that he's been given the number 2, though not necessaily important. Morrison also looks like a proper competitor, as does Solly, and Green doesn't give defenders much peace. As he said himself in the intro interview, hard work will be a big part of anything we achieve.
  • Well it's a game of three halves.
  • I reckon there's a 50/60 chance he could start ahead of Solly.

Agreed, Player ...... Hughes is 110 per center.
  • I am worried that Hughes will become confused at the percentage of effort he is expected to give.  IMO if he is still alive at the end of the game I will consider he didn't give enough.
  • He's crap if he's still alive at the end of the warm up!
  • I'm a bit worried by a number of the Leeds fans comments relating to this Blog - they seem pretty similar to the Scunthorpe fans comments - high workrate, not much on offer in terms of tactical nouse, wasted passes, expensive mistakes in front of goal.  Haven't we just got rid of one of these?
  • hasnt even kicked a ball for charlton and hes still getting slated by some!
