I am off to Spain next week and want a good read whilst there. Interested in sports books. Havnt read curbs, peacock's or Lennie's autobiography yet. Can you recommend any of them or any others related to football. Cheers.
Barca - a People's Passion - Jimmy Burns - a history of the club and its origins/place in Catalan society etc rather than about Barcelona FC. Despite having a British sounding name Burns is Spanish.
It does looks a hard read, saw the stuff about when he came back from an op in the US, the physio flew in first class, he was stuck in cattle, and ended up in agony and doing more damage to the knee
The priest -gerald odonovon -- Set in Dublin a thriller....also any Grisham -- go on hols and have a good read -- live and breathe football --dont read it

The Bromley Boys and 32 Programmes, both by Dave Roberts if you like books by fans about going to football.
Damned Utd is good IMHO
Seconded
The Garry Nelson books are both excellent.
New Charlton book at end of the month - Charlton Day by Day.
Also Acworth still fantasising about publishing his book.
I'm sure someone said on here they know the author.
Cascarino's is pretty good.
Tony Adam's too.But that's more of a 'good pub guide'.
Been renamed as "One Night In Turin" - in line with the best selling sports documentary film released last year by someone or the other ....... ;-)
have you got the three book box set?
Bartram, Firmani and Seed's biographies.
Cos if you don't I'm selling off a load of old stuff to raise money for the CAFC Academy.
£6 to you but you'll need to arrange to pick up from Bromley or at Bournemouth.

After two messy divorces and his poker losses he's probably skint by now!
