    An anorexic Bernard Manning.

  • There will properly be a few child support agency undercover supremos in the crowd waiting on every word...
  • slightly lost it ................he seems to be left behind  ...hope tickets were cheap ...his jokes are old
  • Charlton-nil?

I think he sings the odd song as well, a real old-fashioned variety performer.

Unfortunately, he's not a very good singer .... or comedian.

My best mate Malcolm Dowse told me Jim davidson stayed over one night when they were going fishing in the morning... My mate dowsey said to Jim set the alarm for 5, Jim said what for there's only two of us?!?
  • Saw him a bunch of times in the millenium lounge a few years back when we were doing well. He was supposed to be on the wagon, but looked a right mess.

  • Just had a phone call lifers from my mate Dowsey, he said that he was up the picture palace last night and Jim Davidson turned up with 20 Irish blokes, it all kicked off and Jim got nicked. When Jim got asked what he was doing, Jim said he thought it was over 18's
  • I hope for anyone going they are not JD gags, as id be wanting a refund
  • We he does support Charlton nil.  Funniest joke ever?

  • Well Davy i think it might be funnier than the one Cray Addick just told just above you.

    I'll get my coat...
  • he say's the same jokes all the time, there are the 'noisy jack and danny', 'the hairy jack and danny', the 'chalkie' jokes. and the 'disabled access' joke.

He is funnyish if you are not too 'P.C' , but don't think I would pay to see him.
  • JD knows FA about Football. Not really a Charlton fan, just jumped on when we got to the Premiership.

Sat with him and John Virgo years ago at a Charlton golf day at The London Club. Virgo was great, Davidson was pissed.

That's the night I asked Curbs if he would like to be manager of West Ham, he said he would swim the Thames for it. He was sober !!

Played that day with Graham Stuart , what a great bloke. Not sure what year, but it was shortly after West Ham thumped us on Boxing Day.

I think the day was something to do with a charity for blind footballers.

  • He did a great impromptu gig following the tesimonial match between Bournemouth and Charlton for Neil Young, attended by close family (including Luke Young) and a few friends. I got the impression he was proud to be a Charlton fan and not just along for the ride during the good times.

I may be wrong but I think you will enjoy the show as long as you know what to expect.

  • I remember JD hanging out the window of a Roller waving at our coach going to Bristol Rovers in about 1978. I think he's got a life sentence like the rest of us...
  • He's definitely a fan ... Supported them when he was at st austins school in charlton

  • Ive just read in the paper that he has got a 6 month driving ban for having too many points on his license!  I hope he'll be able to still make the Weymouth show on the 24th Aug.  Ive never seen him live and i wanna heckle at him lol.  I might even bring a wheelchair and sit in the front row? lol.
  • Think people are a bit too politically correct when it comes to JD and up their own proverbials. He was of his time but there is nothing wrong IMO with people thinking he is funny and it is unfair to judge him in the context of today. He was a very good host of the Generation game and Big Break and whilst I won't be queueing for tickets I ope others do.
