  • Thought they knocked us out of the JPT?

  • Except it won't be the 2nd side as the silly rules say we have to play 6 first teamers.
  • There are ways around that it seems thanks to Megson though I can't see CP doing it

BRENTFORD! we will lose that. Brentford will probably want to make up for last year.
    And our team won't? Doh!

Except it won't be the 2nd side as the silly rules say we have to play 6 first teamers.
With 7 subs permitted on the bench, that means a squad of 18. Even with 6 first teamers there can be 12 squad players involved.
Still a great opportunity for the kids - and the likes of Sullivan, Bover, Pritchard, Benson etc to get 90 mins

  • Doubt our team will be up for revenge, barely any of them played in the cup defeat.
  • Nor many of Brentford's. They've brought in a lot of new players too.
  • But only three of those subs can come on

But only three of those subs can come on
So 8 squad players actually get a game.
Still a good run out for the 1st team fringe players, don't you think?

Waggy will play 90 mins.....and play 3 different positions.
  • Bloody hell the draw was cringeworthy, fitting though for the tournament.
  • £5 all tickets  4 october

  • 5th october now, on sky.
  • on sky.
That will have a big impact on the crowd.
  • will only need the west lower open for that one now
  • will only need the west lower open for that one now
what about west lower and north lower only, dont bother with the east stand.
  • Bloody home games on Sky, Why cant they show us away to Hartlepool and Carlisle instead :)
  • cos its easier to film at the valley i guess, always pished me off though that
  • Quite happy as I won't be able to attend that game.
  • Would be good to win the JPT though, good day out at Wembley too. There's not that many games in it either.
  • Hopefully a better game than the semi final last season against Brentford. Will be there.
  • At least we get a bit of money for being on tele when at home. Although Henry your right I think we will struggle to get 6000 before it was announced to be on sky, let alone now.

  • People will be keen to see our exciting new reserve team sweeping all before it

The reserves are even better than our 1st team. Now they would have beaten Sheff Wednesday!!!

  • Have to play mostly first-teamers - it's in the rules, so people wanting to see the reserves will have to wait until the next League Cup match.

Agreed 6 first teamers have to start, Saga ....... but as Megson proved, only 3 of those 6 have to play 90 mins.

That gives opportunity for 5 squad players to start and 3 more to get a good run out as subs.
Still a useful exercise for 8 squad players to get a competitive match.

And with 7 subs permitted, at least some of the kids can get the chance to sit on the bench and get used to 1st team type preparation.

  • Can't wait for Brentford at home in the JPT , should be a cracker!
  • if the game was tonight v brentford and we needed 6 first team players from are starting 11 v SW what would you team be?
