Thanks Covered End...no I'm not back as such mate (though I often pop in to read what's going on)...I was just incensed by that idiots post.Totally uncalled for.

  • This thead's left me very confused, what's going on?

Nice to see you back mind SoundAsa£

  • You should return, you have been missed. I did call for your return at the time :-)
  • Ben Chorley parents live opposite my parents & have meet him a few times. He told me he was in talks to sign for us in our 1st season in league 1 but we wouldn't pay the wages he was looking for at the time & orient offered more.
Not a bad shout but not the quickest but I agree with shanecafc97 he would control the back line & is rated at L Orient.

Just thought maybe he would be a good signing but other Charlton fans don't rate him
  • I knew him years ago, was very single minded about being a pro footballer, I was not at all impressed by his character at the time...but people change.

Wouldn't go mad about signing him for us though.

  • Wiki says he's 1.91m tall, so it's a no from me, 1cm too short unfortunately - just no way he could possibly be good enough.
  • wiki says he's 6 foot 3, .....  right height, brick house type and would have done us before the Taylor signing. We suffered all last season through lack of pace in defence. IF he were partnered with (say) Taylor, or Doherty or even Dailly we would be out of the pan and into the f i r e. i.e. still too slow in central defence

What happens if we sign players and they shrink , do we get rid of them?

I did jury service with his uncle about 18 months back who told me that a deal was virtually agreed a couple of years back and then the Zabeel thing came along and we put it on hold thinking we have bigger fish to fry!
