Injuries, suspensions squad make up, who competes with who?

edited June 2011 in General Charlton

We are making signings, but of course a season has many twists and turns. Which player is sharing a positional responsibility with which player, and do you think we will have decent competition for places next season.

I'll make a start and say that Sullivan and Elliot share responsibility for goalkeeping.

I would say that BWP and Benson have the same role to fulfil up front. Hayes and an as yet unsigned target man will both fill the support role.

Chris Solly or Simon Francis at right back.

Where do you see the other 'choices'?

  • If we are signing Dale Stephens it does make you think why we have signed Pritchard, who just seems to me to be another Dean Sinclair hopefully without the wages and injuries though.

Waggy is the most interesting for me, don't think he's going to like playing 2nd choice after scoring goals last season. So maybe he will be used as a striker.
  • Interesting a few have Alonso as third choice. Alonso wouldn't have signed for us to be back up for Hollands and Jackson. I expect he's on a decent wage, he would have been at Tenerife.
