What I'm looking forward to most is seeing/hearing who is going to be this seasons scapegoat from the bloke behind me 30 seconds into our first home game of the season.
It is always a difficult question to ask lifers as we will probably go whatever the experience and maybe react negatively to gimmicks, but I do think there is more the club can do to encorage new -younger supporters outside of ticket promotions. I would like to see some for of competition at half time between fans. It could be a quiz one week, or a crossbar challenge or target game like soccer am - think this would increase the enjoyment for younger fans. prize of signed balls (by both teams) would be cheap and worthy enough incentives. Also, would like to see - when weather conditions permit (so pitch does not get damaged) youth team or womens games as a pre curser to main game - finish 40 minutes before kick off so teams can then warm up.
Could have some gimmicks like a bar football match or subbuteo match between opossing fans, televised on the big screen. All cheap to put on but mildly diverting and would be enjoyable to youngsters and some oldsters alike I'm sure.
My boy was transfixed when they had a kids penalty competition at H/T once last season and that was all he spoke about on the way home. Mind you, it probably was after one of those dreadful games we had where the football was instantly forgetable!
My 10 year old would love that sort of thing - I know it - with us playing so bad I have to drag him along sometimes. Wouldn't impinge on the traditionalists as they could read their programme. I must admit - I would enjoy watching a crossbar challenge game or similar or a televised subbuteo match too.I suppose the snag with entertainment at half time is that it could discourage people from buying food and drink although I think there are ways to increase sales of that as well - take it to the crowds as they do in America rather than them have to go and queue
we're moving down nearer the front of the north upper (nine of us). We are just a bit lower than the drum at the moment but not in that block. Want to get closer to the pitch although not sure being in earshot of the players will help, particularly in the case of one of my mates who doesn't hold back and is probably the type who gets vilified on here regularly. Also gonna change where we park. Anything to liven things up.
Would be nice to have a feature on the big screen about our opponents- e.g. brief History - things you didn't know - easy to research and would add to the experience - also a couple of interviews with players discussing the match recorded from the day before- so much you can do and will all make the game a more complete package.
Five supporters on to the pitch, each get a go, if anybody hits they win £100.
Do it with youngsters as well. Move 'em closer to the goal and if they hit any part of the woodwork, give 'em a prize.
Obviously do it in front of the North. Be great with the crowd getting behind 'em. Or with the run up for the adults, you'd get "oooohhhhhh.........you're sh** aahhahhhhahhhhahhhhahhhahhh" etc
Another thing which would kill 2 birds with one stone is a game focused around the half time scores. The home team score is read out and a young fan from each team predicts the away team score - The one who gets most right could get a scalextric set or something that is relatively cheap but other kids watching would covert. Do that and a cross bar or kicking balls into a target as in Soccer AM and you would have cheap and cracking half time entertainment. Could sponsor the games too and actually bring in some revenue but above all would be some diverting fun.

That's an idea - although they'd need to sort out the sound. There were a couple of interviews with Robbie and Powell last seasonwhere the sound was truly shocking!
I also suspect that time may be a factor for the club's (reduced) workforce. So, before Henry beats me to it, couldn't the ball boys get involved a do it?
The club could probably do something with volunteers - Charlton Life could probably organise something if club asked nicely like with the big flags - sure the necessary skills technical and organisational are here and probably wouldn't need a great deal of prep - could be done on a match day - Say - Find five home and opposing adult fans who want to play crossbar challenge and 2 kids. Announcer could compare. Floyd and Harvey could give out the prizes. Piece of cake.
They could have a scoreboard on wheels that turns into a giant connect 4 game that could be wheeled out onto the pitch and the counters can be in each teams colours with badges and one fan from each team plays by getting on some scaffolding and putting the giant counters in there.

The Chuckle Brothers live
Werent they in our defence last year?
Most of the North Upper at halftime are queuing for the bar or smoking in the toilets.
;o)

We should all be provided with hand held buzzers as we sit down. These are connected to each CAFC player & they know about the arrangement.
For every misplaced pass, defensive error, failure to score an open goal, we get to send an electric charge through the guilty player.
Red button-terrible error=lots of volts, hurts, equivalent of having your cobblers waxed
Amber=less volts, irritant, having a plaster ripped off a scab
Green=only a few volts, minor, paper cut
Would at least bring the entertainment levels up and surely improve player performances.
Enough to make his hair stand on end.
Oh, he hasn't got any.

People going to the bar at Half Time indeed - terrible behaviour
