Just taking into consideration, over the years we've had players like parker, basey and dean sinclair to name a few and we're pretty good players once they started playing, and parker is still the best midfielder in England at the moment in my opinion. But now players like Solly, Harriot, Gough and hopefully Mambo and Davisson will do the same. Hopefully next year these players will play a lot and help us! Thoughts?

There are a few promising youngsters coming through so i hear.
Hopefully next year we will have a good balance of youth, experience and players in their prime in order to get us promoted. Out of the current crop there arent any that i feel could hold down a first team place
It might still be a year or two too early for some of them. Gough has made the bench a couple of times, but only when Worner and Elliot were injured, Davisson is only on a six month contract, Harriott and Jordan Cousins are 17, Poyet has just turned 16 etc.
I'd like to see some of them get some first XI game time, if only in the JPT, but I doubt that they'll be anything more than very occasional players and mostly will be on the bench and making the numbers up. Next season and probably the year after and we could see some of them become regulars.
Solly looked really good when he played in the first game of the season. I haven't seen him since he came back from injury but i get the impresion that his form wasn't great. Understandable when you consider he was out for so long and came back into a team that was struggling.
I suppose the biggest problem with him will be his size. With a lot of teams playing direct football you can see them pin pointing him as the player for their target man to attach himself to when they want to play it long.
I agree, but is that stupid rule still in place whereby you have to play a team made up of players who have appeared in a certain percentage of the previous games?
If so, unless the youngsters have already been in the first team, they ain't even going to get a look in in the JPT!
I presume it will be, but it does offer some latitude to bring in some youth players/those who usually start games on the bench. Perhaps they should relax the rules a tad allowing more home-grown players to start or those under a certain age.
I agree, but is that stupid rule still in place where by you must play a team that is made up of players who have played in a certain percentage of the previous 1st team games that season still in place?
If so unless the kids have played 1st team football already, which is unlikely, then they ain't going to get a look in in the JPT, and thats a shame.
6 players who have played in over half of the league games I think is the rule.
More chance they will get a chance in the Carling Cup, although it may lead to the annual early exit to a lower division side. Can see Mambo, Harriot and Davisson certainly getting a run out in the CC/JPT. Gough and the others (Warren and Popo) may be on the bench although can see them going on a youth loan to a BS south side or similar.
