If that were to happen I would be absolutely gobsmacked. CP is there for the long term is what was said and unless things go tits up in a spectacular fashion next season that is what I expect.

Well Clem if we wait that long our promotion chances will be gone also. We should be able to see after the first couple of games (as Norwich did with Bryan Gunn) and see if the board have got the balls to sort it. Do you honestly think Norwich would have gained promotion last year if they had given Gunn three months of the season?
I like Still but feel at 61 this would not be good news in the long term .
I seem to remember around 20 years ago he left Maidstone United when they got promoted to the Football League which allowed Keith Peacock to take over. At that point then maybe he should have tried his luck .
He's got a very large comfy spot down there though... seems the type to stick to what he knows and try and build a bit of a club dynasty a la Gradi to me.
But as you say, CP will not be going anywhere unless we invest (which I hope and expect) and we do not hit the ground running.
Tilson is a good example of how a Manager's reputation can change very quickly and not because he had done anything wrong .
There is no doubt he preformed miracles at Southend getting them all the way to the CCC . However , when he left them they were back in L2 although this was because of the way Ron Martin ran the club into Administration and not any slight on his managerial abilities.
He has gone to Lincoln couldn't prevent the slide and now will need to bring them back from the Conference if he gets the chance.
Three years ago he was being quoted for Championship jobs .
The secret of success is matching the manager to the Club's situation. I wouldn't expect Erikson to achieve much at Leicester without him being well backed financially. I believe that CP can be an excellent match for Charlton, and it's new owners. All this talk of when he might be gone is pathetically unhelpful !

Powell is in no danger over the summer. If his win % is no better after 10-12 games next year he'll be gone.

.
There is about 0.000002% chance I'd say
I'm not convinced Powell will ever be.
Erm, is this the same John Still who has just got D&R relegated?
If this happens - which I seriously doubt it will - then it really will be time to worry.
@Kap 10
I am not knocking the bloke, he has done wonders down there but appointing him at Charlton would be a bit much.
We should be setting our sights a tad higher than that if Powell does go, which he won't anyway.

I want Powell to stay and hope this is bs
If we can't tempt Still, maybe we should go for Tilson who's just been relegated with Lincoln.
I seriously hope there's no strength in this rumour.
