It has to be a team of players Powell knows are going to be involved with the first team next season and with so many loanees and players who are out of contract in the summer, it's tough for him to do that.
If he expects to sign Sulivan and Bessone permanently, then Powell should play them. I'd love to see Eccleston for another season and actually play up front where he can cause some damage to teams instead of out on the wing.
I wouldn't expect any major changes between now and the rest of the season as he is still going to want this team to finish as high up in the table as possible.
Other than Hartlepool all the others have a chance of promotion or relegation so we should play a strong team (OK, OK as strong as we can) against each of them in fairness to their rivals.
I'd like to see Fortune given a run in the side. If he's past it then his contract is up anyway.
Harriot would be interesting from the bench. Easier for an attacking player to be risked rather than the likes of Osbourne or Cousins but just for financial reasons it would be better if they played as the price goes up if they have first team experience. Wouldn't mind a look at Warren either.
Stewart needs to prove his worth and fitness. Otherwise the squad is so thin we have little option.

yep, wouldn't be fair on those we've been absolute shite against if we suddenly improved. In the spirit of fairness absolute shite must be our benchmark.
I would like to see Jose dropped into Centre back or even right back, with Stewart and Parret in the centre of midfield. That way we remain quite solid, but also allow ourselves to try something new. Maybe give Mambo 10 minutes here and there also.
Wouldn't bother with Ecclestone again this season, nor Reid as they haven't offered much this season and are both unlikely to want to play for us next term. Give Racon the chance to play on the Right wing instead of the left. I think he would be 10 times more effective than Wagstaff there.
I would keep this Millwall chap in goal, he already looks more commanding and solid than Rob. It will also give Elliot a bit of competition and sure up our backline.
Maybe give BWP a breather every now and then, despite clubs snooping around for him this summer, we don't want TOO much attention.
Thought Ecclestone had been instrumental in a number of our goals recently - certainly would not say his cameo appearances had not offerred anything, for instance it was his run and pass that made Parretts pass for BWP to score against Sants.
I have always thought that he has looked more dangerous than Waggy on the right even though that has not been his best position, of course Waggy offers more defensive protection and that maybe why he has been played in preference.
There is a million miles between what Ecclestone has offered and what Reid has this season.
I'd like to see only those in contention for the squad next season....also it would be nice to give some of the youth a taste of the first team to help their development and also, as Henry said, to improve their CV's therefore pushing up their value!
How likely do you think it is that we will have Parret next season? If so, then I would like to see him involved too. If CP decides he wants Bessone, then play him; same with Stewart. I would have thought that NE is unlikely to be around, though - maybe we should just send the lad back straight away and put him out of his misery!
Posted this on the "centre half thread". Perhaps it's more appropiate on this one:
Echo those who reckon it's important we finish this season strongly. Vital for morale.
And in attracting better players to the club.
Can't see the point in deliberately weakening the team, although of course a little experimentation can be beneficial towards next season's teambuilding.
Likewise, giving a youngster a cameo appearance/sub appearance if it's felt they are ready, for the experience ......but only one playing at one time.
Powelly will not be judging which players to keep for next season on just ability, who'll be looking at attitude and commitment also. The mental strength of players can be as important as footballing ability.
would liek to see a bit more of the keeper from Millwall he is out of contract end of the season again competition between the sticks is always healthy!! again i think we need to try and win as many games as we can to finish as high as we can and go in to the new season on a high.
with so many players out of contract at the end of the season its improtant we get the right blend of players which is ecoing what oggy red said?
i think going forward we havent been to bad this year i just feel we have been weak as a unit defensivly I would also like to keep NE for another season im dissapointed with Reid as on his day he can be a match winner just a shame he is not consistant enough this season?
we are desperate for some decent centre halfs and jenkinson is defoe all over again he will go to arsenal and get farmed out to another side on loan were hearing 1m for him which i hope can get injected back into the squad
i also hear we geting a new away kit for next season but keeping the red plus new gk kits ?
[cite]Posted By: MuttleyCAFC[/cite]A balance has to be struck - The opportunity is there to try one or two Chrissy is unsure about, that has to be a good thing.
There has to be SOME kind of consolation for our season slipping away into mid-table nothingness. Hopefully it'll be the emergenge of a couple of exciting youngsters in the last few games. Shelvey made his mark in a similar fashion with a couple of games to go as I recall.

Agreed - the momentum built up often carries on into the new season, even though there will be changes over the summer.
