CP says :“Obviously he can’t be sold to anyone as yet because it is out of the window but admittedly there is a lot of interest in him."

So how did we manage to sell Jonjo last season then Chris ? We can sell Jenks when we like to who we like even outside of the window just that he can't play for them.

But why would anyone want to buy him when his contract is so close to expiring? We certainly wouldn't sell him for less than we'd get in compensation so buying clubs will just wait it out. It's not as if there's a bidding war going on. Our hands are completely tied on this one.

But you don't know what we'd get in compensation.

Even if his contract ran out, he'd still be registered with us and anyone who'd want him would have to pay us compensation for his development. The amount is debatable as it would go to a tribunal, but to avoid that the bigger clubs will just pay what is peanuts for them (the motherload for us) to take him straight away.

Not sure why Powell can't negoitiate now, though. Maybe he's holding out to see if he might stay, should the big clubs pull out.

Can't see them loaning Jenkinson but what about Ansah ,Cruise or Frimpong ?

Omosuzi was in this situation last season, just no one wanted to pay what Fulham wanted (and I believe that was only a % sell-on fee). Hence why he was on loan to us even though out of contract

That probably means that we can only field a team of no more than three!

14 clubs came in for him and west brom were highest bidders , don't know if that was wages or what we'd get but being an arsenal fan swung it

  • Thought that the SLP had a story saying that they had bid a £2 million for him, personnal terms to be finalised in Friday's issue.
see http://www.southlondonpress.co.uk/Sport.cfm?id=12729&headline=Gunners land Addicks contract rebel Jenkinson

Would not be the first time that Cawley had got things wrong, and there is many a slip from an understanding to actually signing, but seems a done deal to me!

Hope the lad has been well advised, and can see the bigger picture beyond the car brochures!

If he gets into the Arsenal first team within 2 years for prem games, it will be a wonderful move for him!

Although Ramsey, Walcott, and co have struggled to do that, on a regular basis!

I spoke to a gooner fan about this, and he claimed they need less kids , but an experienced leader at the back!, besides a goalie!
