[cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]
[cite]Posted By: BigRedEvil[/cite]Aren't we meant to be getting Zak Ansah from them on loan next season?
that might be more to do with him being Powell's Godchild than a link up with Arsenal.
Historically we have done very little transfer business with them and far less than the likes of Spurs, West Ham or Chelsea.
Other than Song and selling Pates I think you have to go back to Danny O'Shea.
Jerome Thomas (2003/2004) from Arsenal for around 100k Francis Jeffers (2004/2005) from Arsenal for reported fee of 2.5 mil (tho reported we only paid 500k)

Cheers, had forgotten him. Any others?
Just always fault that there was far less transfer activity between the two clubs that you would expect given the locations.
I'm not sure about the legalities, but could he have signed for us and then been sold? Out of loyalty you would think that a youngster would want his old club to get the best deal they can from his move elsewhere. Contracts these days seem to be very easily broken.
Yes, Shelvey did it - it's called loyalty and gratitude to the club that helped you become a sought after player. IMO will fully deserve th eboos he gets whenever he vists in the future- like judas DeFoe. And Shelvey, by the way will deserve all the cheers he gets.
Mixed feelings, but if we are talking millions and not tens of thousands, then this is the best outcome that we could have hoped for if he is not staying.
As for dealings with the Woolwich rejects, well, I suppose it still hurts that we are number one in these parts and they had to run away because they couldn't compete! ;)
IC players out of contract in the summer are free to hold pre contract discussions from January and sign pre contracts, hence the rumours surrounding Racon and Semedo, never assume anything in football is like cricket

Francis Jeffers
It would be good to 'poach' some of their young players.
But apart from the wine, the aqueduct and the law and order what have Arsenal ever done for us? : - )
