Dodgy Keeper

What was wrong with the O's keeper today?
Why wouldn't he kick the ball does anyone know?

Not that I'm complaining, just curious!

  • I think it's the way they ry to play more than anything - not to mention they played 1 up front and he's a dwarf
  • I know which keeper I'd prefer to play for us next season .......

    .
  • Elliot was reluctant to kick it long too - most of the time he rolled it to Dailly, and we tried to build from the back. Given that we had Benson and BWP up front, that was probably wise.

The best thing about Brad's goal was that he didn't even expect it to come to him. He was doing a roly-poly and spring-up to get back to his feet when the ball hit him in the chest. Probably the funniest goal I'll see in a long time.
  • I think Elliot is still carrying an injury, which is affecting his ability to kick
  • That save he made in the second half from Benson certainly wasn't "dodgy".

Looked great but not sure how much he moved to it and how much it just hit him - still you have to be in the right place.
  • Just before half time Rob seemed to have an issue with his leg/ankle!......

he slipped as he kicked the ball ended up in a heap and hobbled off, luckily as the half time whistle blew
  • They were adopting Brighton tactics at times, spraying it around the back 5 - just not as well as Brighton do.

And how old was their number 25 centre midfielder, 13/14???

  • Jones is a fine keeper imho, very highly rated and will play at a higher level, has been their POTY and one of their most consistent and best players this season. The game yesterday was just one of those shockers every keeper has from time to time.

Nice it was against us for once.

Doesn't count as a save as the ball just hit him : - )
  • Do feel sorry for him - especially as his grandfather died on Friday

Indeed this seemed to be the tactic. However, second half we pressed excellently with Benson/BWP man marking their centre backs and Parrett catching out whichever one of their midfielders dropped deep to collect the ball several times. We played about 15 yards higher up the pitch second half and it made a massive difference.
  • Yes I was watching BWP try out a new dance move on the floor and Jones probably was too - didn't look like he was going to get up so decided to throw it over him - BWP got up at exactly the right time though. It was quite funny but the keeper made some good saves so nobody can be too hard on him.
  • I thought the keeper was very cocky from the start, had a couple of iffy moments, rolling / kicking the ball around his back line.

Wasn't at all surprised when he made the balls up.

It was put to me that BWP may have delayed getting up because he had noticed Orients tactics of clearing from their back line- (It was certainly unusual what he was doing on the floor -sort of like giving himself a massage using the grass!) that would make him a genius if he did and I can't buy it but would be interesting to hear his take on things.
  • I thought he looked dodgy then he made a couple of blinding saves and thought we were wrong.

Then he goes and chucks it at BWP, funniest thing in years.
