Although you have to feel a little sorry for the Etuhu. He is hassled by three blokes in a casino who are eventually asked to leave. They then wait outside for him and his friends and again start insulting then again. Etuhu then floors one of them with a single punch. Admittedly, then kicking him is going too far, but I think to an extent, the fella really had it coming.
In eight months time he'll be available on a free.....

Whilst not in any way condoning what happened, when need to start teaching young girls to appreciate and value their youth, not throw it away as quickly as they can.

When you hear of things like this i.e. the low sentences I try and think what can be the exonerating circumstances. I sat on a jury a few years ago and the case was reported in the SLP and the story misrepresented the case. Forgetting the age of these girls, it does seem that the facts are that at least one of them was raped, so I cannot understand how they can only get two years.
It is a sad reflection on the justice system that one of the most horrendous acts against a female that can be committed is worth so little. Am I right in saying that they need only serve a third of their sentence less any time they have served on remand?
There's an article elsewhere that goes into more detail. One of the girls was exchanging flirty messages all night and apparently in the park was beckoning each man over one by one for sex. The other girl didn't. Can only be the actions of the other girl that's brought about such light sentences.
What surely also needs looking at is why 2 12 year olds are out at midnight. You'd like to think the parents should be charged for neglect.
As for the footballers, well, words fail me.
I really hope these girls get some counselling to appreciate the seriousness of this crime and the reasons for it being illegal to have sex under 16.
