  • I think losing to Southampton will be easier to stomach than some of the sides we've lost to recently. However, we're all desperate for an improved performance even if a positive result seems unlikely.

    0-2.
  • grind out a 0-0
  • The last time Saints won at our place was 1977, a year in which they won promotion.
  • Don't think the scoreline will be a hammering.

But the most comfortable of comfortable 2-0 wins for the Saints.

60% possession to Saints. Ground empty apart from the away end and much bile spouted at the end.
  • If we could get a result, it could boost our season. However, I dont think we will, as the saints are a very good team in this league and they would have been given a boost due to the fact that p'borough lost last night.
  • Im hoping for a 5-3-2 formation

    GK: Worner/Sullivan
    RCB: Dailly
    CB: Doherty
    LCB: Llera
    RWB: Jenkinson
    LWB: Bessone
    CDM: Semedo
    RCM: Parrett
    LCM: Racon
    ST: BWP
    ST: Ecclestone
  • From the various threads, it seems that we have a group of players who are out of contract, expecting to move on next season and are not too bothered about putting the effort in. Tonights opposition need a win to go into the top two, will be backed by a couple of thousand vociferious fans and will be fully motivated. There can only be one result.

Whats the point of going? Football isn't an exact science. Surprise results happen.

Jenkinson v Oxlade-Chamberlain will be a good contest. A good measure of where he is at the moment.
  • Just bought my ticket, so confirming my complete insanity and dangerously delusional personality.

Can't find one fellow addick interested in going. Most don't even return my texts.

Also confirming I have no mates either.

BWP hat-trick in amazing 3-0 home win that sparks Charlton....what's this?... The men in white coats are at the door....
dont they realise I am Sir Alan Curbishly? ..that's why I had to stop being Napoleon last season..surely they see that.
  • I'm going and I'm really the Queen!

At least you get to sit in the Royal Box with the Duke of Edinburgh....
  • yes, on his lap - the royal box at the valley is quite small!

    .
  • BWP and Nouble boss it in Saints half, then start laughing so they can't shoot.
  • 2-1 charlton win, with BWP grabbing atleast one.
  • You sleep typing again Stu?

wouldn't mind seeing this at all as it happens
  • Charlton 1-3 Southampton
  • Think that team is a decent call - something different at least which surely has to happen - I would replace Jenkinson with Francis as I suspect we will need his forward play more than the all round game Jenkinson has.

Now you're sounding like the Queen too..

  • Not to sure on this don't think Southampton will really step out of gear and probably will stil achieve a comfortable win, or on the other hand tonight could be the night we get a result that we've been waiting for but I very much doubt that and my money's on Southampton.
  • Ayinsah says he's ready on twitter so a place on the bench is likely seeing as we have no other strikers.

Hope Ecclestone starts, his pace will hopefully give them something to worry about.

deleted post as it was a pointless dig at our midfield

Been thinking about this now for bloody ages, and have gone from my initial thought of a good and easy win for the siants, to a hard fought draw.....and have just voted for an addicks win!!!
The players must know what we think of them, the board, well I guess 1 or 2 of them, must read this site, especially after Mr Slaters letter telling us he understands how dificult its been recently for us fans, and hence I would like to think that the 18 picked for tonights squad will want to prove something to us, CP and the board!!! So gonna stick my neck out either 1-0 or 2-1 to addicks.

Oh and as it will be the last time I'll be doing a match thread at 55 (my birthday is this coming Saturday) I want to finish this year with a win......then I can start again on Saturday with a birthday win!!! So being entirely selfish "Come on players dont let ME down!!"

If Anyinsah is ready he has to play.

And the Board's line seems to be that it isn't us or our manager but it's the crap players which maybe explains why some might not be giving their all. Even if that line has a ring of truth in it.
  • Don't recall ever looking forward to a game less than I am to this one. Best case scenario is a 3-0 defeat, which we might get away with if they lose interest once they know the points are safe. If they're hungry and smell blood then this could go down in history, I really dread to think what might happen if they get an early goal.

Fully expecting to beat my record set at Millwall last year of leaving a game ten minutes before the end. At least I won't be made to wait on the concourse for an hour after the final whistle this time.
  • The numbness and pessimism after the Daggers match has started to fade away.Fancy a 1- 1 draw now.And I havent started drinking yet.
  • Time for us to do to what has been done so many times to us. You know the one where we turn up at a team in the lower reaches of the table, we'd be full of confidence with a big away following, and then proceed to royally blow it big style as the home side show previously unseen levels of ability, attiutde and spirit. Think of Scunthorpe away in 2008.

So tonight we're Scunthorpe and Southampton can be us.

1-0 to us then after a terrible hack clear in the saints defence falls to McCormack who bobbles in the winner from the edge of the box.
  • Reckon 4-1 them but betting on 2-2
  • Will go one of two ways nothing in between for Charlton 1-0 win or 0-3 defeat.
