has the takeover had a negative effect on players mentality

the team were shite under parky but he managed to get some results.
the team are shite under powell but he doesn't get results.

what's the difference? takeover. instead of the players working their socks off, in the hope they may still be here, come next season, they've mentally collapsed.

even if there isn't a lot of money to spend in the close season, i'd be gobsmacked, if the majority of them were still here, come next august and they probably know it?

  • Cant see how the take over would do anything other than make them play better.
  • if you read my post, I suggested that, if the players believed they wouldn't be at the club come next season, then that in itself, may create a negative attitude?
  • Maybe with it being a squad of mostly Parkinson's signings, a few players were disappointed to see him go? Although they did manage (unconvincingly at times) to get results under Powell to start with.

    Same scenario with Dowie.
Let him sign loads then get rid of him. Brilliant! We'd still be in the Prem if we'd have kept him.

Yeah play off spot was shite wasn't it

    FFS

Can you imagine if he was a good manager lol
  • Does anyone know how much money CP will have to spend in the summer??
  • i'm as angry and upset by the recent results as anyone but how do we reconcile four wins in powell's first four games with the shite we're seeing now and how does that correspond with the takeover? everyone was happy as larry up to the exeter game.
  • Alex Dyer, played in a bad Charlton team and now we have him back again.

Can't wait to get rid of Racon and Semedo too, the last of Alan Pardews bad omen team.

Nothing official said so far... You won't get an answer now, on here or any site, because other than the new board and the secret backer/s, nobody knows.
  • Comparing the date that the takeover plans were made public and 'due diligence' began to the date of when Parkinson's long undefeated spell came to an end and the poor results began sure makes you wonder how the players regard the takeover in every sense or what has been said behind the scenes.

my point, as I keep trying to relay. if a player/s concerned that they may not be retained and let's say in mcoxos case, we sincerely hope he's not, may also struggle to find a new club or only get offers from div 2. then it makes me wonder, however much they try to be professional, it must have an impact on their mentality and perhaps their attitude, it is after all their livelihood, though one may question that?

none of us know what monies may be available to powell but even if it's very little, he's surely going to want to get his own players in, even if it's just to break the negativity that some of them may have and of course if they have wind of lots of money being available, then obviously they probably know their fate is sealed?

how would any of us feel,if we knew we were being made redundant in a couple of months time, would our attitude towards our current employer be the same as when we first got the job, I think not?

I'm not trying to make a case for parky or powell, I'm well aware that parky kept us challenging for promotion but I
think we're all agreed that from an entertainment point of view our football under both managers has been dire?
  • Chris needs players that want to play for him , most of this lot appear not to want to do that for him , i wish players were paid by results.
